Advantages: it works

Disadvantages: none

I love my wife: she's the sort of person who seems to know everything about kids. A while back, I was worried to see this weird dry skin on my boy's scalp. It wasn't dandruff, but it was nasty. Oh my! Was he ill? Then Claire has a quick look "Oh yeah, it's cradle cap. It's nothing to worry about, babies get it, we'll get Dentinox".

So, here it is, a fairly small bottle of magic shampoo. It contains 125ml for around £2. I'm always sceptical about this sort of thing because I imagine it will be horrible on my little boy's skin. I imagine it smelling medicinal and weird. So, I carefully apply it to his head. It looks and smells like normal shampoo - so far so good. Like all shampoo, it says to avoid getting it in the eyes, and I do. I rub it in, it lathers well. The instructions say to rub it in generously and rinse, and then repeat until the cradle-cap is gone. This bit leaves me a bit dubious: am I just supposed to wash his head forever? The bottle also says about not worrying about that little soft bit on his head: stuff that, I will worry about that bit thank you very much!

I keep going until his head is well lathered, then rinse it off. When I rinse it off, the bubbles go over Noah's face, but he isn't bothered so it clearly doesn't sting/smell/taste any worse than anything else.

Now, I didn't repeat, because I thought I'd see what one wash did, and low and behold (when I had a look the next day) it had done the trick. However it does it, it gets rid of cradle cap.

The good thing about this stuff is you can continue to use it as a normal shampoo when its purpose is achieved, so it's not like it goes unused.

The active ingredients are:
Sodium lauryl ether sulpho - succinate 6% and Sodium ether sulphate 2.7%

In conclusion, this stuff works great and actually does do what it claims to. I was dubious, thinking I would have to scratch it in, but just a normal lather and rub with your fingers and the scalp soon looks perfect again: lovely!

Summary: do it
