Advantages: Bottle lasts a while

Disadvantages: Doesn't get rid of cradle cap and has chemical smell

My baby boy suffered quite badly with cradle cap it seemed to cover most of his head and even went down a bit on his forehead. It was one of my friends who suggested Dentinox cradle cap shampoo, and so we decided to give it a try, as it didn't look great to look at but I was also worried it might be bothering him.

We bought the shampoo from Tesco's although it is available in most supermarkets and chemists, and was around £2, it is quite a small bottle though although you don't need to use a large amount to get a good lather of bubbles so it still goes quite a long way.

The shampoo itself is almost clear and I found it had a slight chemical smell to it. I didn't like this at all as it worried me that it could harm my baby, although it says it safe to use from birth. I guessed that this was because of the ingredients in it that would help get rid of the cradle cap.

However I found that using it every other day when my baby was given a bath it didn't seem to help at all. The cradle cap stayed. By the end of the bottle I was slightly put out!

It wasn't until I spoke to the health visitor she said to put baby oil on my babies head and leave it for 10 mintues and then wipe my babies head over with a towel. To my amazement it was as though most of the cradle cap just wiped away! So that's my advice, don't bother with dentinox to me baby oil worked much better!

Summary: Didn't work so would never recommend!
