Earth Friendly Baby Shampoo & Bodywash
Advantages: Its gentle and has a lovely fragrance
Disadvantages: None for us although it is a bit more expensive than others
When Jayden was born I received a lot of presents for him including various bath products, some I had heard of before and others were totally new to me. One product which I received and had never heard of before was Earth Friendly Baby Relaxing Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash, I had never heard of the Earth Friendly Products before but there is quite a large range of them, the shampoo and bodywash is what I am currently using on Jayden as at the moment I do like a product that I can use on his skin and hair at the same time rather than using separate items.
The Earth Friendly Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash comes in a clear plastic bottle which has a white plastic lid on tip, to open it you push one side of the top of the lid so that it tilts to reveal a small hole where the bodywash and shampoo can be squeezed out of. There is a white label wrapped around the whole of the bottle, this has the words "Earth Friendly Baby" written at the top in green and blue writing with the rest of the name "Relaxing Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash" written just underneath in purple writing, this is then repeated in a second language.
In the centre of the label is a picture of a child and a cat outside washing under rain clouds. Right at the bottom of the label it states that this product is hypoallergenic, it also says "Healthy Earth, Healthy Baby". There is also a silver circle on the label stating that this product won a silver Mother and Baby award for the most co-friendly product. The back of the bottle contains all of the product information including the ingredients, statements about the product, directions for use and warnings, this is also repeated in a second language.
The Shampoo and Bodywash
The Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash is a clear yellowy orange colour and is of quite a thick consistency, the first thing you notice when you squeeze some of the product out onto your hand is the fragrance, you get an definite smell of lavender, this is quite strong but not overpowering and it gives the shampoo and bodywash a lovely fresh fragrance. This shampoo and bodywash is hypoallergenic, it is specially designed to be gentle on both your baby's skin and hair, it contains natural ingredients to enhance both skin and hair without using harsh chemicals and detergents.
The ingredients in this bodywash and shampoo are certified organic, over 70% of the ingredients have been certified organic. and it has been approved by the vegetarian society, this product also has not been tested on animals. As I have also mentioned this product has won the silver Mother and Baby Award for being the most Eco-friendly product.
Directions for Use
The Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash can be used in the same way as any regular shower gel or shampoo for your baby, however directions for use are printed on the back of the bottle, they simply state that you should wet the hair and body and apply. You can use either your hands or a baby sponge to apply this product, I simply wet Jayden's hair and body, squeeze a small amount onto my hands lather it up with a small amount of water and then rub it all over and then rinse.
Although the Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash is gentle on your baby's skin and hair there are one or two warnings on the back of this product, these include
* Avoid contact with eyes, if this occurs you should rinse with clean water
* Do not use if your baby is sensitive to any ingredients
These are standard for this type of product and personally we have not had any problems with Jayden being sensitive to the ingredients in this product.
Price and Availability
As I have mentioned I did not purchase our bottle of Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash as it was part of a present however I have had a look around and have found out that this product is available in Boots as well as various websites, in Boots the 251ml bottle costs £3.99, compared to some products this is a little expensive to pay for a shampoo and bodywash, however I personally find that this product is extremely long lasting, I only need a small amount to wash Jayden's skin and body so in the long run this actually works out quite cheap and good value for money.
I have been using the Earth Friendly Baby Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash for a while now and have been very pleased with it. Personally I love the smell of this product, in the bottle it does smell quite strong however when I apply a small amount to Jayden's hair and skin the fragrance is a lot more delicate, this product really does leave him smell clean and fresh, I also find that the delicate lavender fragrance lingers for quite some time.
This product lathers up extremely well, you only need a small amount to make a lovely soft lather to wash your baby with, this also makes the product extremely good value for money and long lasting. We have been using this product for a while now and have hardly used any out of the bottle. As promised this is extremely gentle on Jayden's skin and he has had no adverse reaction to this.
I would highly recommend Earth Friendly Organic Lavender Shampoo and Bodywash as you can be sure that it will be gentle on your baby's skin whilst at the same time leaving it clean and fresh, this is certainly one I would buy again in the future.
Summary: A lovely product for your babys bathtime
