Advantages: Come in small sizes, fit well, machine washable
Disadvantages: a little expensive, a little difficult too get off when wet when getting a little small,
I brought these when I realised that Huggies Little swimmers didn’t come in small enough sizes for my baby. You can buy them either as trunks or as a bikini for little girls. They are fairly soft on the outside with somekind of gauze lining. The legs and waist are fully elasticated and have a waist tie to adjust the fit. I find they have always fit my baby very well and I have not yet had any embrassing leaks. They also seem to fit well as your baby grows. My baby is almost out of her first pair and they still fit as well now as they ever did. Not only that they still look and feel the same as when I first brought them, but I am quite careful about rinising them as soon as we come out of the pool and washing them when I get home. The smallest size fits a 9lb baby so you can start swimming when your baby is very young. The downside is that you do have to wash them (they are machine washable) but you can’t put them in the tumble dryer. They do take a while to dry on the line though so for holiday time it is best to have more than one pair or invest in some disposables. They can also be a little difficult to get off when wet when they are getting a little small Also I think that they are slightly more expensive than other reuseable swim nappies but much cheaper than disposables in the long run. Price:£9.98 - trunks £13.98 - bikini style On another note a leaflet you might find useful (I did) is from Little Swimmers, Making a Splash, PO BOX 951, Bucks, SL9 9UN. It has advice on taking your baby swimming and where to find baby friendly pools. You need to enclose an A5 SAE but I thought it was worth it.
