Advantages: novelty value, good price, large volume, good bubbles and smell

Disadvantages: problems with pump dispenser

I bought a bottle of funky Farm Bath and Shower Gel for my daughter from Asda very reasonably priced at £1.95 especially considering the 1 litre volume.

The bottle is bright and colourful with a pump dispenser top which is disguised by an animal head. My daughter chose the cow (I wasn't surprised at this considering her haughty nature!) but other animals available are the duck and the pig.

When the cows head is depressed, the bubble bath is supposed to come out of its mouth via the concealed pump inside. This was not the case with the bottle I bought - firstly, I couldn't get the pump to open and actually dispense anything at all and had to jiggle about with it until it opened, then instead of the cow spewing bubble bath from its mouth, the pump outlet kept sliding back inside the cow so its head filled with the stuff which then trickled down the outside of the bottle.

When I eventually managed to get the gel into the bath water it did froth up quite well and the bubbles did last quite a while. There is no real fragrance to speak of but when I was drying my daughter she smelled nice and clean - the kind of smell you get with Johnsons baby bath so I was quite happy with that. My daughter has used it in the shower and concluded that it didn't froth up as much as she liked but she did smell nice.

The bottle did last quite a while despite the amount that was wasted and when the bottle was empty my daughter decapitated it and now has a nice new cow-head bath toy.

I will buy another one because the bubble bath itself was good and you get a lot for your money. I am just hoping that the problems I had with the bottle / pump were a one off and is not a design flaw across the product range.

Summary: Very good value for money.
