Huggies not so soft (Huggies Baby Wipes)

Advantages: Attractive packaging

I tried out Huggies baby wipes many years ago when my eldest was a few months old. We didnt get on with them very well at the time.But shopping the other day, we came across some in Tesco's, on offer for £1, and I was drawn to them because of the attractive design on the pack.

The packet is white, but it is decorated in lots of brightly coloured little hand prints. The design totally jumps out at you from the shelf, so I thought I would give them another shot.

There are 64 wipes per pack, and the pack promises 'Gentle Cleansing' and to 'Leave skin feeling fresh'. The pack also says they have a cucumber fresh fragrance. On opening, I cant smell cucumber, its more of a soft, baby type gragrance. Each wipe is patterened, this pack has little teddy bears on it.

Here is where I find the problem. Because of the patterning on them, they feel slightly rougher than other baby wipes. When wiping my toddlers delicate little bottom, I can feel the roughness. This has now led her to have a sore botty, and for the first time in a long time I have had to whip out the Sudocrem to protect her from getting any sorer. This is the exact same problem we had with them the first time round, so for us they have gone in the bin.

Now, the wipes may not be to balem for the soreness, but it does seem coincidental that the two times we have used them, about 6 years apart, the sameproblem has occured.
On a plus side for these wipes, they are not really dry, nor are they soaking wet, which can be a problem with some wet wipes. They do have the right level of 'wetness' to them. Just unfortunately for us, they are not suitable.

All in all, I would personally give these wipes a 4/10. Very attractive design from a reputable company, but some design flaws that means they are not for us.

Summary: I wont be using again
