Advantages: Nice smelling, aloe vera

Disadvantages: Rip very easily and need to use a lot of wipes

We have two daughters who are 3 and 1 so we go through a lot of baby wipes one way or another! Usually I stick with Asda or Tesco own brand wipes as I feel that they are really good wipes and definitely good value for money. However, we ran out last week and I happened to be near Superdrug so I popped in to buy a couple of packs to keep us going til I was next at a supermarket. The Huggies Natural Care wipes were on offer so they actually worked out cheaper than the Superdrug own brand ones that I would have normally gone for so thought I'd give them a try. I wish I hadn't...

So what are they? Huggies are a very well known and very reputable brand of baby products. They manufacture various types of nappies and wipes. The Huggies Natural Care wipes come in a pack of 64 for around £2-£2.50 per pack. The packaging is very appealing with a picture of a cute baby on the front and a pleasant green and dark red design.

What's good? The wipes contain Aloe Vera and vitamin E which should help to care for your baby's delicate skin and help to heal any nappy rash that develops. The wipes also smell gorgeous - very fresh and not perfumey at all. Although expensive compared to own brand wipes, these wipes appear to be on offer (BOGOF or 3 for 2) quite frequently so if you liked them then you could get some bargains.

What's bad? I hated these wipes!! They're nice and thick but they're very papery and seem to rip really easily. They're very moist too but this just seems to make them more prone to ripping. They are soft and the quilting seems to be quite gentle on little one's skin but I seemed to end up using far more wipes than I normally would use! This is especially annoying as the wipes are more expensive than my usual ones in the first place!!

Verdict? They smell nice and have some good points like the Aloe Vera but over all I really don't like these wipes. They just rip too easily and I ended up using so many more than usual. The price is also a put off. If I end up in the same situation again and was going to be buying branded wipes I'd probably go for the Johnson's ones instead as I know these wont rip! But I think in general I'll be sticking with Asda's and Tesco's!

Summary: Nice smell - shame they don't perform as well!
