Advantages: smell lovely

Disadvantages: get stuck together

Being a parent of a toddler, I have used nearly every variety of baby wipes available to me on the market over the course of the last two years. Why so many? Mainly because I like to buy what's on offer and so far I haven't managed to stick to a favoured brand.
I find all the different varieties of wipes have their plus and minus points. Huggies featured high on my list. And would probably come out top each time if only they didn't have the one minor flaw that I get every time I buy a packet.

Instantly when you look at a packet of Huggies wipes in the supermarket, you'll see the packet looks a bit larger than the other brands. This is because the wipes themselves are a lot thicker than the likes of Pampers or Simple wipes for example.
I was first introduced to Huggies when my mother in law bought a packet of the Shea butter range than were introduced a year or so ago. The smell just won me over instantly and I would buy them whenever I saw them on offer. They were certainly my brand of choice for quite a while.

I find that when you are using wipes for bottom areas, they have different requirements than say when you're using wipes to clean hands and faces after meal times etc.
For bottom occasions the Shea butter aroma did a good job at masking any nasty whiffs that were dancing about in the air.
It made the experience a lot more pleasant when using these wipes. When it comes to cleaning hands then the fragrance doesn't really matter, although it is nice for me to get a quick fix of Shea butter as I open the packet.

The packaging itself on Huggies wipes are the area they let themselves down in. Pampers have a nice flexible plastic casing to store their wipes, and other brands even have nice little plastic lids to enable the wipes to stay fresher for longer in the packet.
Huggies packaging are made of thicker plastic and it feels more rigid than that of Pampers. I often find that on one out of every two packets I open, the top will rip. When this happens I have two options, leave the packet and try to close as best I can each time, or transfer the wipes into my travel container.
I prefer to keep them in the proper packaging but when the top rips, the wipes will dry out before we have reached the bottom of the packet, and this then makes them a waste of money.
To start with I thought it had something to do with the way I was opening the packet, but however carefully or slowly I do it, if the packet is going to rip, it does.

When I need a wipe in double quick time, usually during bottom instances, I do find that because the wipes are so thick, they do stick together more than Pampers ones do. They are joined by a perforated edge and this can slow me down quite a bit. One slight niggle with the wipes, but the fact they are so thick does help me clear messes with less wipes than Pampers.

Onto the cleaning issue, I do find these wipes are good for removing yucky bits from bottoms that really don't need to get left behind. I used to find Pampers would slide over some areas, and because they are thinner than Huggies, you ran the risk of putting your finger onto the mess.
Huggies do a good job of clearing all this, but they're not to useful when it comes to little girls delicate bits. They are too clumpy for this job, and I hate this bit. Sadly I cannot have a perfect packet of wipes to do all jobs, or for that matter a pack of Huggies for one area and a pack of another brand for the rest.

Overall these wipes do come out quite high on my list. They are proving much more useful as my daughter gets older and we are needing to clean delicate areas less and less with more potty use etc, so these wipes will be much better for older children.
I have never found the wipes to affect her skin in any way, they have always appeared gentle enough even when she has had nappy rash through teething.

A pack of these wipes are a standard price of £2.49 for around 72 wipes. This is what you would expect to pay for any branded pack of wipes. I will never buy them for this price as one brand or another is always on offer somewhere.

Summary: a nice wipe

I never got on with Huggies wipes. I hate how the wipes stick together and they always end up ripping! Pampers are the best for me x

I prefer these over Pampers wipes, but when they stick together, it does really annoy me!
