Advantages: Great training pants which have lovely pictures.
Disadvantages: The newborn size isnt great , I found they leaked.
When I had my son I was shocked at the price of nappies and was very tempted to purchase cheaper brands however many people I knew were using the named brands so I started to use Huggies newborn.
Huggies newborn are very cute and adjust well to the tiny bodies of a newborn baby however I did find that I had to stop using them because they got wet very quickly and I didnt feel they protected my son well enough as his bottom was quite damp after use, so i turned to Pampers (please see my pampers review for more about this) when my son moved on from newborn nappies I also encountered problems from Pampers so I switched back to huggies when I needed bigger sized nappies.
I have found that the brand of nappy that I need to use depends very much on the age of my children, at first Pampers was the best as I think they have the best protection for smaller babies however now my son is older I find it better that he wears huggies because they are very absorbant and keep his bottom dry, they are cotton feel and I believe this allows his skin to breath and they must be more comfortable for him to run around in than the nappies which have a plasticy feel to them.
Each size comes with a different design on it and my son loves to look at the different pictures he gets on his nappies.
My son is now in huggies training pants and he thinks the elephant picture on his pants is really brilliant, the picture I believe has helped us in his training because he does not wee or poo in his pants because he doesnt want to get his elephant dirty ( his words ! )
They are great to go out in, he feels like a big boy and if there is a little accident its ok because they provide all the protection needed.
Unlike normal nappies they do not have fastenings, they pull up and when they are removed clean nappies can just be pulled down and dirty nappies can be torn at the sides and removed, they also have a helpful sticky strip at the back so the nappy can be folded before it is put in the bin.
Its not just Huggies nappies that are brilliant either, Huggies actually have a club which can be joined in pregnancy or when you have had your child, the club has loads of advantages, when you are pregnant you are sent a folder and fact sheets about your pregnancy and when you are close to giving birth they send you a little pack of freebies, they also send you a claim card so that when you purchase your first packet of Huggies newborn nappies from a Tesco store you get a free basket full of goodies, mine included washing powder samples, little toys for my coming baby, breast pad samples, lots of info, a feeding spoon and a few nappy samples so its definitly worth joining.
In addition to this information I think it is important to remember that every baby is different and the nappy that is best for them will differ, but even if huggies isnt the best option for your child i would definitly reccomend joining the Huggies club for all the great freebies!!!
p.s Huggies are offering free samples of their superflex nappies, i recieved 6 nappies in the post, you have to apply via their website, well worth doing!!!
Summary: Great products and lots of freebies.
