Advantages: Average nappy

Disadvantages: Quality doesn't live up to price

I seems to me that when you have your first baby you get won over by one of the premium nappy brands. All the mum's I know you haven't discovered the great cheaper supermarket brands, seem to be either a buyer of Huggies or Pampers and stay relatively faithful to that brand. I was a Pampers girls, I stocked up on the newborn size before my first baby was born and I never even tried Huggies.

These days I just buy whatever brand gives best value for money and also provides quality. While I still think that Pampers are the best I have also found that some of the supermarket offering are fantastic at a much lower price. Now I only actually tried Huggies for the very first time a couple of weeks ago. They were on offer from Tescos, and that week had the best deal on, so into the trolley they went.

I was expecting great things from them and for them to be equal in quality as Pampers, so I was rather plaeased with my purchase. Ok, so I opened the packet and I then remembered that Huggies nappies all have Winnie the Pooh characters on the front, which my two year old quite liked. I picked up one of the nappies and had a good look, I could see that they did have the stretchy bits round the legs and also round the back. I knew that Huggies pride themselves on having a close and comfortable fit and I was hoping that this extra detail would help prevent leakages.

I also noticed that individually, each nappy felt quite a bit more bulky than the Pampers, not really a problem but I was hoping that this didn't mean that they would reall bulk up and become heavy when my little one did a wee.

I used these nappies for a couple of weeks and this time, I wasn't overly impressed by their results. I experienced a few leakages and a couple of times her bottom became a little red. They were certainly adequate but, if I had the option I would go for the Pmapers every time. I just expected a little more from them as they are a premium brand

Summary: Not bad
