Advantages: Re-seals well, Helps Prevent Nappy Rash, No Leaks

Disadvantages: Maybe they could be a bit more cheaper... just like anything!

After receiving a few freebie nappies from both Pampers and Huggies before my first was born, I had pretty much decided I would use one or the other of these disposable nappies.

Although embarrassed to admit this for the first time, as my darling daughter was 10 days late I got very, very bored one day and opened up a Pampers nappy and a Huggies nappy. I pulled them about a bit, had a go at fastening and unfastening the fasteners as much as possible and generally abused them to see how much they could tolerate. (As I said, I was very bored!)

My conclusion at this point was that the Huggies nappies were far superior to the Pampers. To me the Huggies felt softer, (No, I didn?t actually put the nappy on, although I would love to see my bum fit in a nappy, I just felt the inside) they tolerated more of my abuse and the seals fastened and unfastened far, far more than the Pampers did.

So, from the moment the not so little Bryony was born, she had a Huggies nappy put on her bottom. One day, after browsing round the supermarket, I noticed that Pampers were giving away a free Tweety Pie toy when you bought one of their economy packs. Of course, I rushed to buy one for the Tweety toy. (For Bryony, of course.) With both Bryony and I happy with our free toy we eventually decided we might as well use the Pampers nappies too.

Never again. We had a couple of leaks, a fastener breaking, when checking the nappy we could never fasten the damn thing back up again if all was clear, thus wasting a nappy and they generally didn?t fit as well as the Huggies nappies tend to. Although I am very proud of my free Tweety Pie, I will never again use Pampers.

Bryony is now 7 months old, and apart from the very short-lived Pampers episode, has always worn Huggies nappies. She has never had nappy rash, we have not had a leak with Huggies, and now that she is just experimenting with movement, she?s doing fine, and obviously is being allowed to freedom
to play happily in her nappy. She sleeps roughly 12 hours a night, and occasionally more (aren?t we lucky?!) and the nappy holds it all, even though I am sure my little darling pees for Britain. No doubt if the nappy got uncomfortable after a bit of wee, we wouldn?t be as fortunate with the amount she sleeps.

Thank you Huggies for helping me gain quality sleep and being part of saving my sanity!
