Advantages: Keeps baby dry, Affordable

Disadvantages: none

My grandaughter was born on the 2nd of Feb this year and with all new babies comes the excitement and the preparation.
As this was my son and his girlfriends first baby, I helped out with the stocking up with the things you need when you have a baby. As well as going totally over the top buying baby clothes, but that's just the excited grandma in me.

Amongst all the things like baby lotion, baby bath, baby wipes there is always the nappies.
When you have a baby it is always best to get in a very good stock of nappies, believe me you'll need them and the last thing you'll feel like doing after you've had a baby is to go out shopping. You'll be very tiered when you get home and find that your sleep pattern has now been totally disrupted. It takes time to get into any sort of routine.
If everything is on hand then you can rest and enjoy your new arrival.

Whilst getting all the baby things, the nappies I chose were huggies.
My eldest daughter has a son who is now three and when he was a baby she bought pampers, which she wasn't happy with so she swapped to huggies.
These seemed to have the absorbancy you need to keep the baby dry and free of nappy rash.
So when it came to buying nappies I went for the huggies. As they had worked well for my grandson

A packet of new born size will cost you around £3.79 this is for 7 to 11 pound babies, you can get smaller nappies, but the average size of a baby is seven pounds, so if it's your first then this size should be alright to buy and stock up on.

The nappies are very absorbant and have a sort of stretchy inner liner which fits around your babies inner thighs to help stop leaks.
I remember when I had my kids there was nothing on the market like these, nappies have come a long way in the 25 years since I was a new mum.
Huggies have two sticky tabs on the sides which can be pulled around to fasted the nappie tightly so that it doesn'
t fall off. I used to stiggle with terry nappies and a huge pin to fasten the nappy, this is much easier.
With practice any male can also get the hang of changing nappies..
There is also little pictures on the front of the nappie of baby birds, which are cute.

When you change the baby just take off the old nappy, wash and dry baby. Apply barrier cream and put on the new nappy.
The used nappy can be then put in a nappy bag and disposed of with the rubbish. How quick and easy is that.
When I think of the hassle we used to have changing and washing terry nappies. Thank goodness for change.

My grandaughter is now nearly a month old and weighs 8lbs 4 oz which is a nice size and is still in these first size nappies, after a months trial my son and his girlfriend are pleased with the huggies. The baby hasn't got nappie rash and the nappies are cheap enough to buy. I think they are going to stick to this brand as she gets older.

You can also join the huggies baby club, which you can do by visiting huggies.com
They will send you coupons for money of nappies and keep you informed of any other offers via email. It's worth looking at.

Oh congrats on becoming a grannie, I can only wish at the moment. My son and his partner want to wait a while yet, I hope they won't wait too long.
