Advantages: Sturdy and strong
Disadvantages: Takes up space
I bought this bath for my small daughter to use it. It's a sturdy blue plastic thing and cost £5 from Ikea. The plastic itself is very high quality, you can drag it along the ground in frustration when massively pregnant because it's a pain to try and figure out how to carry it - and it came away without a scratch.
The thing itself is extremely basic, no frills no messing, although it does have a very sensible non-slip bottom so the baby doesn't slide under the water. It's a little under 40cm in height, so perfect for small babies as well as older ones - less splashing water can escape over the sides!
It doesn't have a plug in the bottom, which is good if you want to bathe the baby in somewhere other than the big bathtub - in winter you can bring it in front of the fire and nobody gets cold. However, once it's filled with water it's really heavy, obviously, and I found it much easier to bathe her in the baby bath in the big bath and cope with the backache than carry the giant heavy thing and risk spilling the contents all over my lovely hardwood floor.
The only other problem that I can see is that is space is a concern, having a baby bath that doesn't collapse is a waste of space. We tried keeping ours in the bathtub all the time but it still got in the way, so now the baby (over a year old) is washed in the big bath and we get on with it. I'm glad we had it for when she was smaller though.
Summary: Good for small babies and bigger ones but takes up loads of room
