Advantages: one size is economical ,absorbant yet not bulky. lovely and soft
Disadvantages: a bit difficult to fasten as the wrap holds in in place rather than velcro/ poppers or pins
I'm a recent convert to re-usable nappies and I have sought a lot of advice from the UK Parents Cloth Nappy forum (yes, there is such a thing!!) I wanted to try out several different types of nappy and found a sale and swap board where I managed to purchase, amongst other thing, 3 Imse Vimse re-usable nappies. They are a Swedish one size soft brushed 100% natural cotton flannelette nappy, which can be folded to fit from new-born to potty training. This nappy is very soft it has a thicker central strip with extra layers of flannelette for extra absorbency, and an inner flap again of several thicknesses. The inner flap can be folded to suit boy/girl, and unfolds for easier drying. It is slim-fitting and yet surprisingly absorbent, although I often use two together at night or a booster for my heavy wetting little boy!!! It is bulkier like this but it is still quite slim compared to a night time terry with boosters. Winner of Bra Miljoval award, also approved by Swedish Nature society for the purity of the cotton. the only trouble I have with it is that it doesn't have any velcro or popper fasteners on it and relies on the wrpa to hold it in place which can be a bit tricky. I really like this nappy and, although I haven't had them long yet, they are my favourite so far. I'll keep you posted!
