Advantages: Does not dry or irritate baby's skin.

Disadvantages: I can't think of any!

When my daughter was born (13 years ago) I was advised to use Infacare baby bath as that is what they used in hospitals then. It was the only soap I used on my daughter for the first couple of years, as it was mild and gentle on her skin and left it feeling soft and clean.

When my son was born (20 months ago) I was shown very little in hospital as they expect you to know and remember everything from the first time round. They didn't specify a particular baby soap to use, and I didn't remember what brand they used. There are quite a few different brands of bubble bath designed for babies on the market and you want to make sure you are going to be using one that will be safe on your little one's precious skin. It is important to choose a soap that is mild and caring, so as not to irritate or dry a baby's delicate skin.

I was very happy when I was out shopping for baby 'bits' to notice that Infacare baby bath is still available and the appearance of the bottle has hardly changed at all. The 400ml bottle is white with the name being prominent on the front in a light blue colour, and a few other important snippets of information on the front of the bottle, with a large flip top lid. The bottle also states that it is clinically tested.

Babies especially newborns don't care for heavy scents so milder scents or non scented products are better for newborns. When my baby boy was born we did get gifted a couple of bottles of well known brands of bubble bath, but I still preferred Infacare over all the other brands.

When choosing soap for a baby you want to know:

* If it is safe and mild.
* Hypoallergenic
* Non Toxic

You don't want to worry that your baby will develop a rash or get dry skin, it needs to be hypoallergenic as you don't know if your baby will have any allergies and newborns are more susceptible. You also want to know that it is non toxic as all babies love to put things into their mouths including their hands even when they are being bathed.

Infacare baby bath boasts:

*That it is Clinically Tested
* Developed with expert Care for Baby's Delicate Skin
* Helps protect and care for your baby's skin
* Formulated not to irritate
* pH balanced formula

The soap is ultra mild and can be used all over including washing baby's hair; it has a very subtle and delicate fragrance to it, only a tiny amount of the clear liquid soap is needed in a bath one to two tiny drops is enough. If it is used under running water it will create a lovely bubble bath, if you add it to your baby's bath tub swishing the water will create frothy white bubbles. A little really does go a long way, so this bottle will last you for a long time! Once my baby boy is in the bath I find he doesn't slip about any more than he would without the soap. The bath water feels nice and moisturising on my skin and the bubbles last well. Once my son has been bathed his skin feels soft to the touch and smells clean too. It has never dried his skin or caused any rashes since we have been using it. I also use it to wash his hair and it lathers up well and rinses off easily leaving his hair feeling clean and smelling good too, it doesn't strip the hair of the natural oils it leaves it in great condition.

This is my favourite baby bubble bath as it is so mild and gentle and it cares for my baby's skin.

You can find this in most major supermarkets as well as Boots, and Mothercare, the price varies depending on where you buy it from but it usually retails around £1.50 - £2.00. The bottle will last you a good 6 months if used sparingly, so it is excellent value for money and you won't need a separate soap for washing your little ones hair.

I have bathed both of my children in Infacare and have nothing but praise for it.

Highly recommended!
