Advantages: Price, easily absorbed, refreshing, makes skin soft and smooth

Disadvantages: Doesn't smell as 'mild' as I'd hoped

I'm not entirely sure how it happened, but one day my skin decided it really didn't like highly fragranced bath and shower products. It went from being soft, smooth and comfortable to itchy, dry and irritated far too quickly for my liking! Even my usual Vitamin E body products weren't helping. I didn't have a clue what to do, but then a Johnsons advert just happened to come on the TV. 'Hang on' I thought 'If it's ok for delicate skinned babies, it'll be ok for me!' And that was that decision almost made. After reading tonnes of positive reviews on here, I made my mind up to give Johnsons Baby Lotion a go. So, here's my review:

Looks: The lotion comes in a big, pink slightly rounded plastic bottle with a flip lid. On the front it says: Johnsons Baby in blue, then lotion in a darker pink, then Clinically proven mildness in a circle design and the Johnson and Johnsos logo in blue at the bottom. The label all this writing is on, starts pale pink at the top and fades into a darker pink at the bottom. On the back, all thw writing is in blue. This is what it says: '8 out of 10 midwives use Johnsons Baby on their own children', 'The lotion that truly knows the secret of perfectly babysoft, fresh skin', Best For baby: Johnsons baby lotion is the most effective way to remove oily substances that water alone cannot and leave skin clean and babysoft, Best For You: As a body moisturiser, it works in harmony with the skin. When you smooth it on, the skin just takes it in. Your skin is comfortably babysoft, and fresh, too, just like a baby's skin', Mild enough for newborn babies, enriched with protective ingredients, for babysoft and babyfresh skin. Then under that is thew ingredients, the information line number (0845 6020333), then the amount of lotion in the bottle (I chose the larger 500ml size).
The lotion itself is the same pale pink as the bottle and quite runny in texture so be careful! It does smell nice, but it doesn't have that sweet, almost baby powder like fragrance that I love. It's a bit stronger than that.

Value: £2.46 for 500ml or £1.69 for 300ml. As a little goes a long way, a 500ml bottle will last several months with everyday use.

How To Use: After a bath or shower, I dry myself off, then apply a generous amount all over my body paying particular attention to rough areas like my knees and elbows. A quick rub and it's gone, leaving my skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Is it any good?: Well, I think so! I've been using this for 3 days and my skin feels so much better already. My knees and elbows are much less rough and the rest of my skin is really soft and smooth. It sinks into my skin really quickly and really cools me down after a hot bath or shower. The itchyness of my skin has all but stopped and I feel much more confident about my skin now. I've spent ages trying various adult body lotions and potions, but I think I'll stick to this from now on. In fact, I'm so impressed by this, I intend to try more baby products in the future! The only bad thing I'd say is that the smell wasn't as mild as babylike as I'd been expecting. Although I'll stick with using baby lotion as a body moisturiser, I'll give other brands a go to see if I prefer the fragrance of them.

Summary: Great lotion for fussy, irritated skin

I prefer baby oil, to lotion (for myself). Not sure we needed to know every detail about the bottle and would have prefered to read more about the actual lotion, if you know what I mean.
