Advantages: Smells great, Silky soft skin, Value for money
Disadvantages: None
I have been a huge fan of Johnson's baby products since I was a teenager. Why? Well my mum has used all the products on us since we were all wee babies, so naturally im a total convert. Not only do I use Johnson's baby oil (see the review I did on that) and their bubble bath and I also use their baby talc and sometimes their shampoo! I have been using Johnson's baby lotion for years now, im not one of those people who tries every single cream and lotion advertised on the television because some celebrity says it is brilliant. If I find something, I like and that something works, I tend to stick with it. (",) Who are Johnson's? (",) I don’t think there will be a supermarket, pharmacy or high street store like Boots and Superdrug who don’t sell products by Johnson's. They are a well-known company who supply baby products such as baby lotion, baby bath (which is bubble bath), baby lotion, moisturising cream and baby shampoo. This brand also seems to be acknowledged as the best one to use by hospitals and baby clinics. I went to the clinic with my cousin last week with her son (my Godson) to be weighed and he has a little nappy rash and the midwife there told my cousin to use the Johnson's Nappy Rash Cream when changing him and Baby Talc for when he comes out of the bath. (",) The pink stuff (",) Johnson's baby lotion is Hypoallergenic, allergy and dermatologist-tested, which for me is great because I have got sensitive skin. There are not many products, which I can use which leave me without a rash or itching like ive got scabies. So if you do have sensitive skin, be assured you can use Johnson's baby lotion. Oh and instead of being a boring white creamy lotion, it is a rather groovy pink colour! (",) The pong (",) Johnson's baby lotion to me will always signify babies and I will alwa
ys associate the smell of baby lotion with babies. However, the smell is a clean smell, which is rather sweet. (",) What is it used for? (",) I use this lotion to simply moisturise my face, I use it twice a day every day. When ive had a wash in the morning, I use it and before I go to bed at night, I also use it. The best way to apply this lotion is to use a cotton wool ball or pad. It is great for removing make-up and grime. Living in London I make sure, I cleanse and clean my face a lot more than I did when I lived up north because of all the pollution from the traffic and the tube. You can also use this lotion to moisturise not only your face but your whole body and on the bottle it says "Johnson's baby lotion is the most effective way to remove oily substances that water alone cannot to help prevent nappy rash and leave skin clean and baby soft. This lotion is easily absorbed and leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, not greasy in anyway. After using this lotion for many years, I am proud of the fact that I have soft skin, however I am still prone to having dry patches, which I zap with extra cream in the cold winter. (",) Another use (",) I also use baby lotion as an after sun cream. I went to Ibiza this summer and having blonde hair I catch the sun a lot easier than most people, thankfully ive been going on holiday long enough not to burn to bad. However, im not a big fan of after sun, my sister once burnt quite badly on a family holiday and the nurse told mum to apply lots of after sun which my mum did. However, upon our return to the UK my sister's skin had blistered so mum took her to the family doctor who said she should have never used after sun because on this occasion it had kept the burn under the skin and advised mum to use Johnson's Baby Lotion. So, since then, I have always used baby lotion rather than an after sun cream and
it works so much better than anything else! Oh and another trick is to put it in the fridge to keep it cool, especially if you don’t pack the calamine lotion! (",) The packaging (",) The Johnson's bottle is pink, so it is easy to recognise in any shop. it is a fat bottle with a flip lid, making it easier to use and has etched upon it Johnson's baby lotion. In the middle of the bottle there is a sign, which says “Clinically Proven Mildness” this, is because Johnson claims it is the most mild cleanser, which is mild enough to be used on newborn babies, who by all accounts will have very sensitive skin. On the back of the bottle there is a list of ingredients and most importantly a sign which says "For external use only" and "keep out of children's reach" which I personally think should be displayed much bigger than it is. (",) How much does it cost? (",) The bottle I have currently is 300ml and as it was on a BOGOF offer in Boots, I got two bottles for £2.19. In Superdrug, the same sized bottle here in London is currently £1.99 so it is worth shopping around to see if you can find a good deal. I usually buy them when there is a BOGOF offer on. (",) Shapes and sizes (",) As well as having the 300ml bottle there is also a squeezy tube option, which is 2 fl oz and is £1.35 in the local pharmacy here and recently I have also seen a 300ml bottle of Johnson's baby lotion with Aloe Vera available. There is also a travel size option available, which is great for weekends away and contains 1 fl oz and their biggest bottle, designed for all the family in mind is a whopping 27 fl oz. (",) Where can I get it? (",) This stuff is available is all supermarkets and high street stores such as Boots and Superdrug. It can also be found in pharmacies and can be ordered online from most s
hops. Places such as Boots and Superdrug have started to do their own version of Johnson's baby lotion, although I haven’t tried it, it is much cheaper. (",) How long does it last? (",) A bottle (300ml) lasts me about 6-8 weeks because I use it everyday twice a day and more if I have got dry skin. Therefore, it does last a long time. (",) Final thoughts (",) If you have dry skin, sensitive skin or if you are looking for a new moisturising cream, I cannot recommend this enough. As far as I am concerned, it is fabulous!
