Advantages: An oil thats not only for baby
Disadvantages: none at all
Johnson and Johnson's baby products have been around for well over 100 years and are endorsed by health professionals and parents alike. Johnson's baby powder was first introduced in 1890, the much loved fragrance has never changed.
Johnson's puts safety, comfort and gentleness at the top of their list and every product is thoroughly tested to make sure that it meets Johnson's high standards.
When our children were babies Johnson's was part of our daily routine, at bathtime we always used the baby shampoo because it was gentle and every time a terry nappy was changed a generous shake of silky Johnson's baby powder was applied to the skin. The baby powder smell is unforgettable, it immediately conjures up wonderful memories.
Ive been buying Johnson's baby oil for years. Not for the babies now but for me!
I have that dreaded problem...dry skin and during the Winter months my skin is almost reptilian (Oooh good word)
So after I shower or bath I liberally apply Johnson's baby lotion not only to my body but to my face and neck too.
Ive found that if I cup my hand and pour a little oil into my palm then apply it first to my face concentrating on working it into the skin, then I go on to my neck, using a little bit more oil. At first it sits on top of the skin, but the oil soon sinks in, leaving the skin feeling softer and certainly looking smoother!
I try to do this every day and it helps no end.
Then I noticed that there was a Johnson's baby oil with Lavender and chamomile which I thought would be lovely to use on my body skin. Both herbs have a relaxing effect and if it could relax a baby then why not me?
So my routine has changed and rather than apply the relaxing oil in the morning I now use it at night and use the plain Johnson's baby oil on my face and neck in the morning.
The oil has a beautiful fragrance and is very much like an aromatherapy oil. It helps to keep the moisture in your skin and you sense when you apply it that it is very mild.
My legs seem to develop little rough patches of skin but the oil soon smooths and relieves the patches.
I'm convinced that the Lavender oil is as good as some of the more expensive oils that are on the market today.
All of Johnson's baby products are dermatologist and allergy tested. A 300 ml bottle costs around £2.50 and can be bought from most leading chemists.
Summary: An oil with a lovely smell that nourishes the skin.
