Advantages: Good for moisturising, massaging, fantastic for shaved skin.
Disadvantages: Can get slippy to hold or handle.
Johnson's Baby Oil has been around for simply ages. From birth right into adulthood I have always used this product, whether my mum use to massage me with it as a baby, well she still does it now when I'm suffering period pains month after month, or to just keep my skin soft and moisturised, It actually has so many uses but my only complaint is the plastic bottle itself does get greasy and slippery to hold and handle. Also there have been times when I have accidentally knocked it over and spilt it, in turn wasting some of the product and making a huge mess.
Johnson's Baby Oil appears in a clear plastic bottle with a pink top and labels front and back telling you what it is and how to use it. You get 300 ml of clear oil and it has a delicate fragrance sort of like talcum powder. It is made up of three ingredients: Paraffin Liquidum, Isopropyl Palmitate, and Parfum. It costs about £1.00 from Tesco's at the moment but is usually around £2.00 for a 300 ml bottle and you can get 500 ml bottles for about £2.54 too.
How have I used it?
- Well as I mentioned earlier mum use to massage me with it when I was a baby and she still does when my back aches from period pains, she gets right stuck in. Thank god for the baby oil else I think she would have my skin off. I have to admit mum massages me good, I feel somewhat relaxed and ready to sleep and it generally feels good to have someone massage you.
- From time to time I have used it to moisturise my body after a shower or bath when I have the time to fiddle with it. Applied to wet skin and then dry makes your skin feel moisturised, soft and looking healthy.
- In the past when I use to wax, I would use it to remove remaining wax left on my skin, this was before they introduced the wipes you get with wax strips theses day. Since I do not wax any more, I epilate. I still use the baby oil to make my legs feel super soft, and moisturise my knees.
How my boyfriend uses it?
- Well what was my boyfriend's secret to a baby smooth shaved face, I wondered, baby oil was the reply. I think I was kind of shocked and surprised he uses baby oil at all. Every time he meets me with a shaved face I can not stop stroking it and feeling how smooth it is, I could spend hours just stroking him, it is like that mad obsession I have to stoke shaved heads, I stroked the ex's shaved head too much, I assume that's why it ended so soon. Lets hope I do not stroke this boyfriend away either, but I think he is enjoying it too much now as he hardly has the stubble appearance when he can not be bothered to shave. I know he hates shaving just like I hate the idea of hair removal but he seems to make the effort outside of work now too, arwww bless.
Odd usage?
- My friend and her sisters actually use to use this like hair serum to stop their hair being dry, My mum use to oil my hair with a bit of caster oil, my dad still does in his hair, they believe it helps keep hair looking healthy, I'm not too sure, just seems like I wasted time washing my hair just to make it greasy.
I think last year I purchased Bio Oil hoping it would work its magic on me but as soon as I opened it and poured a little onto my palm it reminded me of baby oil and I thought damn I have just paid a lot of money just for baby oil! Stick to baby oil it is much cheaper, you get a big bottle and it does the job perfectly.
Summary: Feel baby smooth and soft.
