Advantages: cheap, multiple uses

Disadvantages: smelling like a baby

I'll start with a disclaimer: I do not have a baby. However, I am still a great fan of Johnson's Baby Oil so thought I'd write a review on it as I feel its name discourages people from buying it when in fact it's a great product for adults too.

Johnson's baby oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pink flip-top cap. The bottle is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably into your hand. The oil itself is clear and its odour is a little hard to describe as its essentially a smell of its own which most people would identify as 'clean baby.' Its consistency is cooking oil like - it slides easily and isn't sticky. It is widely available in most supermarkets and chemists, and costs around £1.80 a bottle.

So why as a childless female in my twenties do I love it so much? It's all down to its versatility and good value. It may be designed for moisturising babies, but I find it is fabulous for moisturising me too, especially my legs after shaving. This has the added bonus of leaving my legs with a healthy shine, as well as beautifully soft. In addition to this extrapolation of its intended use, it works well as an aftersun lotion and is cheaper, and tends to have a longer shelf life, than products sold as after sun lotions. I have also used it for removing make-up, and it is of course great for giving massages with. Away from 'girlie uses' I remember my dad using it to oil a squeaky door when we were out of oil... definitely not what it is marketed for, but it worked!

I think Johnson's baby oil should be an essential in all bathrooms, regardless of whether you have a baby or not, as its great value for money and can be used so flexibly.

Summary: fabulous!

My Son has eczema so can't use any Johnson's on him, but baby oil is great for cleaning my stainless steel toaster and kettle xx
