Advantages: outstanding for moisturising skin and smells lovely!

Disadvantages: oil can seep everywhere so don't use too much!

One day last week I was out in my local 99p store doing my usual shopping, when I was hit by the usual the disease that comes over me when in this shop, which is the urge to buy all kinds of toiletries and tit bits that I don't need right now but I know I will use in future! One of the products that jumped at me was a bottle of Johnson's baby oil as I knew I didn't have any at home so into the basket it went!

Of course I am sure most people know that Johnson's are a leading manufacturer of skin care products, with a lot of variety of creams, lotions and potions for all different ranges of skin types and Johnson's baby oil is one of their popular products you just cannot get away from. Out of a lot of different body oils there are in the market at the moment, Johnson's baby oil has stood the test of time as it is ideal for baby skin due to the composition of pure mineral oil which forms a silky barrier to help prevent excess moisture loss.

Occasionally in the past, (and sometimes nowadays still but a lot less often!) I used to use this oil as a massage oil as when my daughter was a few months old I attended a mother-baby massage class and the midwife advised us that massaging baby after a bath relaxes the muscles and helps babies to sleep longer and more contently and it would also help to stimulate babies muscles and strengthen them for development. Oblivious to any of this information before, I took it all on board and used to use this oil to massage my daughter, being very cautious to avoid her developing spine and she thoroughly enjoyed it! Oddly enough, I also found it very therapeutic and enjoyed bonding with my daughter this way, and I can tell she enjoyed being caressed so delicately and feeling loved, so I cannot recommend enough for any new mummies to give it a try!

Often as the case is with oils they can seep everywhere so not much is needed, I literally pour a small drop into the palm of my hand and apply it liberally all over the body (an adult or kids as it can be for people of all ages!) as just a small amount is needed to make an ample difference in moisturising skin to leave it supple and smooth. Obviously this oil is no different, as it is a transparent, runny oil in comparison to others I have used, and comes in a clear bottle with a pink flip top lid to extract the oil through a small hole. Overnight this oil seeps in well to skin to keep it moisturised and the lovely baby scent it carries lingers endlessly most importantly it is great for a baby's sensitive skin due to it's soft and gentle formula.

Over time we tried many different oils, (including a Calendula oil and Rose oil) this was our favourite for our little one as it is clinically proven by dermatologists to protect baby's skin and prevent dryness and is widely available and from a reputable brand such as Johnson's.

Only costing a mere 99p a 300ml bottle is a real bargain and as it lasts so long and has such great properties you really can't go wrong with it! Obtaining a bottle of Johsnon's baby oil is easy as it is really accessible and can be purchased from many high street retailers and supermarkets as well as my local chemist. Overall, I would definitely recommend Johnson's baby oil as it has amazing moisturising properties, leaving skin soft, smooth and well nourished and is great for massaging.

Summary: oh nothing, just the best baby oil ever!
