Advantages: it works

Disadvantages: none

Our son was born with extremely dry skin,it was flaky from his head to his toe and it could be pulled off,it was that bad.I had tried other forms of baby moisturisers to no avail, even bath moisturisers. After a couple of weeks I went out and bought some baby oil and dotted it on his skin and rubbed it in.After a few days of this, his skin started to clear up,no more flaky baby. For dry skin this is a definite must.
Another wonderfull use for baby oil,is for the removal of cradle cap. When somebody first suggested it to me I thought "what a load of rubbish",isn't cradle cap a blockage of the hair folicles?,wouldn't oil just make it worse?.So I gave it a go .Firstly you massage it onto the affected area and leave it on over night. In the morning you wash it off with warm soapy water, pat the head dry and you can see it lifting. Then get a baby brush and comb. With the brush, gently brush, then with the comb you comb out the loose pieces and after a couple of nights at this ,the baby is cradle cap free.
Baby oil is also very useful for the dry skin you get on your knees, after crawling round the floor with your little darlings.

Wish I had known about using it with cradle cap a year ago. My daughter suffered from this terribly and only now she is nearly 2 has it just about disappeared. Will know next time (if there is one!) Thanks. Jo
