As some of you may know by now, we have been blessed by the birth of a second daughter. Everything is going fine so far but it took us time to get organised between the two girls. It has been very rare for me to be able to sit down in front of the computer and surf a bit. But whenever I can I always try to read few opinions and give ratings. Today I decided to forget about all the things that need being done and write a review about babies, mainly baby massages using Johnson?s oil. It has been since the birth that I have massaged Leah and I can see now she is clearly enjoying it. You should see the smile she gives us when her feet are getting rubbed. Her facial expressions have never been so distinct. Let?s start by giving the properties of Johnson?s baby oil: Ingredients: -Perfume -Paraffinum liquidum. It is clear, odourless oil derived from petroleum that is widely used in cosmetics because it rarely causes allergic reactions and can?t become a solid and clog pores. Despite mineral oil?s association to petroleum and the hype that it is bad for skin, keep in mind that petroleum is a natural ingredient derived from the earth and that once it becomes mineral oil, it has no resemblance to the original petroleum. -Isopropyl palmitate. Used in cosmetics as a thickening agent and emollient and, as is true for any emollient or thickening agent, can potentially clog pores, depending on the amount used in the product. Use: -Infant massage and parent-baby bonding -Softening, hydrating the baby skin. -Effective on adult skin too. -Clinically proven to be gentle and mild -Allergy and dermatologist-tested Warning: For external use only. Do not apply to irritated skin. If rash occurs discontinue use. Keep out of children's reach to avoid drinking and accidental inhalation, which can cause serious injury. Should breathing problem occur, consult a doctor immediately. Johnson?s baby oil rema
ins clear at all temperatures and is free from harmful bacteria Price: 200ml £1.80 I know they sell also 300ml and 500ml bottles but I can?t tell you how much they are as I only buy the smallest size available. I use Johnson?s baby oil mainly for massaging but also for dry skin. Today I will speak about baby massages because I think it is important in a baby?s life as it improves the child?s awareness and curiosity in life. You already know by instinct that touching a baby brings him security and helps him to relax towards the multiple movements that surround him. But the skin to skin contact develop much more complexes reactions like tenderness and Johnson?s oil will help you. To be carried rocked, to be cherished, to be held, to be massed, those act like foods for the little children. Food of the heart, it is also a manner of saying, "I love you" with the hands. The massage, not enough practised by the Western countries, is a very good way of opening up your child mind to the world. It allows the newborn baby to join again a carnal and securing relation with his mother. At the time of the massage, the relative enters in close contact with the baby who must be willing to receive it. We learn how to observe our baby for a better understanding. The massage is not done on the baby but with him. It creates a relation based on the respect, love and confidence, which support the creation of a strong bond. The relative learns how to get to know his baby, his way of reacting to the various stimuli of the day, he feels himself more involved in his new role. Facts: *Massaging the chest releases the tensions accumulated: baby breathes better. *Massaging the tummy relaxes and activates the transit, which regularizes digestion and relieves the small disorders such as colics or constipation. *Massage activates blood and lymphatic circulation and thus supports the intercellular exchanges and
thus a better oxygenation. *Massage stimulates the nervous system. *Massage reinforces the immune system by its beneficial effect released on the hormonal answer of the body exposed to the stress. It develops a body conscience to the baby, baby till three months old are not aware they are separated from his mother. *Massage makes the baby aware of a state of relaxation, which by the release of a whole series of hormonal chain reactions supports its harmonious and healthy development. *Massage relieves various disorders such as colics, the constipation, and teeth aches. It favours a good sleep so significant for the well being of the baby (and of his/her parents) And to finish here are two different massages to read about: The Indian massage: Ancestral tradition, it is practised each day, from the birth until the baby can walk. Oils used are generally mustard oil in winter for its calorific virtues, and coconut oil in summer for its refreshing properties. There are no specific program established for the massages, the mothers guide themselves on the reactions of their child. It is then rather a philosophy than a method. The movements are slow and paced like waves giving a beneficial state of relieving. The African massage: In many areas of Africa, the daily care includes massages. The techniques and oils used differ from one country to another. The massages take place after the bath, with various oils. They start from the birth and continue until the child reaches three or four years. They comprise firm and paced massages of the limbs and back, stretches, massage of the head and face. However I find Johnson?s oil slightly too expensive and I sometimes swap it for olive oil...
