Johnson's Baby Powder
Advantages: Lovely texture, fresh scent
Disadvantages: A bit pricier than other versions
I'm not normally one who likes to pay extra for branded products, but when it comes to baby powder I make an exception. I accept that it might be a psychological thing and in reality there isn't much difference, but I've never been as impressed with an own brand or value brand baby powder as I have with Johnson's.
I should say, I don't use this on an actual baby very often, as I don't have one of my own! I use this on myself, after a bath or shower to help my skin feel fresh, dry and soft. I always have a big bottle on the shelf in my bathroom, and it lasts months, because a little goes a long way!
The scent of Johnson's baby powder is one of the things I like most about this product. Its clean, fresh, not overpowering but with enough of a presence that you feel a difference. It doesn't last hours like a truly perfumed product, but it does give you a boost when you're getting ready.
Johnson's baby powder is also great for soaking up the last little bits of excess moisture after a bath or shower. You wouldn't apply it to soaking wet skin, as it would probably turn to a mushy paste which wouldn't be great! However after towel drying, a few shakes of this and run it in and your skin will fee bone dry and silky smooth, ready for your clothes. Be careful about putting darker clothing on straight after applying this by the way! White marks are one of the inevitable hazards of a white product!
What makes Johnson's different to other brands of baby powder is the texture, in my opinon. It feels finer, as though the grains are smaller, others can feel coarse or chunky but Johnsons is like the most perfect white sand on a Caribbean beach you can imagine. In my opinion, its worth paying a little extra for.
Summary: Worth paying a little more for, it won't break the bank anyway!
