Advantages: Lovely smell, leaves skin soft

Disadvantages: It did not make any difference to baby's sleep

I bought a 500ml bottle of this from Boots for £2.69 when I was desperately seeking even 4 hours of straight sleep! It claims to help relax baby and aid a better night's sleep, and in this sense for us it was a categoric failure.

However, perhaps that was expecting too much. My son is still a terrible sleeper so how could I have expected a bottle of bubble bath to succeed where all other methods have failed (including stories, singing baby massage...you name it, we tried it!)?

It claims to help baby 'sleep better', and I definately noticed no difference. It did not relax him either, he is always as high as a kite after his bath.

However, that is not to say I would not recommend the bedtime bath. It makes the bathroom smell gorgeous, as it has a lovely, relaxing lavander and camomile aroma which is delicate and gorgeous. It is much better than 'adult' lavander products which tend to be far too overpowering.

It is not oily so it does not leave the bath slippery, which again is important with babies. It leaves skin soft and smelling lovely and again despite being lavander scented it has the distinctly Johnson's baby scent underlying which I love.

A small 20p amount squeezed into hot running water gives lots of creamy bubbles and it lasts a few weeks even with me and LO using it every day.

To summarise, this is a lovely baby bubble bath which does have a relaxing calming smell - but that doesn't mean it will help baby settle down or sleep better! For us, it makes a nice change from the standard baby bath every now and again as it is basically the same product with a different scent. As for the sleep aid - it doesn't hurt to give it a go!

I have given it 4 stars solely because I did not find that it aided sleep at all, and this is what it claims to be for. As just a bubble bath I would rate it a 5.

Summary: It is worth a try - if it makes no difference to sleep it is still a lovely bubble bath!
