Advantages: Easy to use, nice scent, reasonably priced.

Disadvantages: Does not lather enough to keep Ronnie entertained.

Having lots of nieces and nephews I can occasionally be found with my elbow in the bath water checking that everything is well before hopefully bathing one of the babies and getting them off to a peaceful nights sleep (for them and me!).

When my nephew, Ronnie, came to stay with me at a friends recently I was given this Johnson's Bedtime Bath and I looked at the mysterious purple bottle and was relatively taken in by the claims for a relaxing bath for the baby and all the lovely things it would bring, i.e. good sleep.

I squirted a small amount in to the warm running water and swished my hand around a little in the bath to produce a few bubbles to hopefully keep him entertained for a little while as we had no bath toys for him. A relatively nice scent, of lavender, was released in to the water and we did manage to get a few little bubbles from this bath liquid.

I was fully expecting my nephew to be upset when in the bath but he was happy enough sitting there thrashing his hand around in the water and generally just soaking myself and Tom.

He did seem to be quite relaxed after having his bath and he smelt lovely and clean even though I'd only really washed his hair. He went straight off to sleep with just 5 or 10 minutes of cuddling and rocking which is a massive improvement on what he is usually like. He did wake up several hours later but this is usual behaviour for Ronnie.

I would recommend this as it does seem to work for him and it is best when used in conjunction with an organised bedtime routine. I believe my sister uses something like this for my niece as well and she is the most organised and well trained baby I've ever seen!!

A 500ml bottle of this is available from Tesco for £2.59 or there is a 300ml bottle available for £1.85 and you only need a small squirt for each bath.

I am going to rate this 4/5 as the smell is nice but it doesn't produce the biggest amount of bubbles. I know you wouldn't want a whole bath full with a young baby but I would definitely have liked to have seen more to keep Ronnie entertained a little.

Summary: A lovely bath product that left Ronnie smelling nice.
