Advantages: smells nice, works with some children

Disadvantages: bubbles quite thin

I think there is something ingrained in every expecting parent to buy at least one Johnson's product for their baby. I ended up with loads of them and I'm not even sure why. I still buy them now even with my two year old being able to use almost any product in the bath. There is some trust factor I have associated with Johnsons for babies and I know their products will be kind to my daughter's skin.

We started off using bedtime bath when my daughter was very young. Getting into a nice bath time routine we hoped this would help settle her when she associated the product with her bath and then bed.
Having the essence of lavender in the product we hope as parents that the oils will do what they are claimed to do and relax baby.
Now we use the product as a fun extra, and don't worry about the lavender oils included in the product as our daughter does go to bed well with or without any help.

Packaged in a purple bottle, this product comes in quite a good size at 500ml for £2.59. We find a bottle will last us for ages depending on what we use it for.
The flip lid provides a good closure cap on the product and we have never found any to leak out if it tips over in the bathroom.
The product is designed to be used as a bubble bath, but we have also used it as a wash in the past as we didn't like to create the dependency on bubble baths too early on due to the drying out of young children's skin.
This product is ph balanced and kind to skin but even so in my experience of children, I know once they realise they can have bubbles in their bath then they want them every time.
Thankfully we have gotten to just over two years old without the need for regular bubble baths, so we found using this product as a bath wash worked just as well and gave us the same effects.

As a bubble bath, this product does give off lots of bubbles for very little product. It's quite a runny consistency so you have to be careful not to use too much, but as it's a large bottle then it will last you for quite some time, especially if you're like me and have many different products for your children in the bathroom anyway.
The bubbles are very thin and disappear quite quickly within the bath. As my daughter doesn't spend loads of time in the bath at one time, then we find this product is ample and the bubbles last just long enough to satisfy her.
Acting as a wash, the product lathers up very well and glides over the skin when applying. We find it gives off quite a subtle smell of lavender. Anything too string would put me off the product all together as I always associate with old people for some reason and it's not one of my favourite smells.
Thankfully as an after smell, my daughter smells just as a little girl should, fresh and clean rather than old and musty.

I would recommend this bath to anyone wanting to try something different to calm their baby down at night, or just to get into the routine. I have always found a bath wakes my daughter up but every child is different. I have a niece who will almost fall asleep after having a bath with this product so it will affect every child differently.
I like the softness of the product and the way my daughter's skin feels after use so recommended from me.

Summary: a nice addition to bathtime

It gives my son a rash and me a headache, but I know it's effective for a lot of people, just not us :(
