Advantages: Lovely smell, pretty good value for money
Disadvantages: Does not help sleep
I bought a 400ml bottle of Bedtime Moisture Wash from Boots a fortnight ago, and it worked out at £2 a bottle as there was an offer on where you could get 2 bottles for £4. The normal price is £2.53 for 400mls.
It comes in a squeezy bottle which stands on end. It does not look like the picture, as this is a 300ml bottle I believe. The shape of the 400ml bottle is different but the colour is the same, and it is the lovely lilac colour which represents products in the Johnsons Bedtime range. It contains lavander and camomile and claims to aid a better night's sleep.
First of all, let me say that I really like this product. It is by far the nicest smelling baby wash I have ever come across and for that reason alone I will continue to purchase it. It smells so good I actually use it on myself regularly, rather than my own Sanctuary products! What I love is that it has a gorgeous, relaxing smell but it does not smell strongly of lavander, as I really hate that scent. It smells very soft and delicate rather than the heavy, perfumed scent you'd expect from a lavander based product and I really like that.
The bottle would be better if it was a pump action dispenser like the Johnsons Top to Toe Wash, because holding baby with one hand and flipping open the bottom and squeezing the wash out is just not practical. It is easier now as my son is 9 months old and sitting himself but with a tiny, immobile baby I think it would be a nightmare if you were doing bathtime alone.
As for the claims to aid sleep, I found this to be nonsense. I have not met anyone who has actually found this to be true. It does not help my son relax, as he loves to play in the bath and no scent will persuade him to change that habit. I have noticed no difference in his sleep patterns and he is not more relaxed after using this product. It is a lovely smelling baby wash and nothing more.
It does leave his skin smelling gorgeous, soft and smooth - it just doesn't make him sleep better.
I have rated it 3*. As a body wash it would be 5*, and that is all I buy it as, but I think because of its claims to aid restful sleep it would be unfair of me to not take into consideration the fact that it fails to live up to this.
Summary: Brilliant body wash, but don't expect any more than that from it!
