Advantages: smells nice, leaves skin soft, multi-purpose
Disadvantages: a little expensive.
It was my daughter's first birthday and even at this tender age she got one of those gifts you always get but don?t particularly love. Yup she got a set of smellies. Being only a baby though she got a set of Johnson?s smellies and they actually came in quite useful! This is when I first discovered Johnson's baby top to toe wash! I had never before heard of this product, nor could I ever recall seeing it on the shops shelves so maybe at the time (about a year ago) it was a fairly new product. So Beth is happily splashing away in the bath and I think its about time I actually get her washed! I open the aforementioned birthday gift set and grab out the bottle marked ?Baby top to toe wash? It has a mellow yellow top and the content of the bottle is transparent. There is a large ?No more tears? Logo on the front of the bottle, also it says ?new baby soft formula? and ?Gently cleans skin and hair, milder than any baby soap? I have a read of the info on the back of the bottle and find that it can be used as a bubble bath, a baby soap, shampoo and it can also be applied directly to the skin! It is: *Non-drying and Non-irritating. *Soap free *Milder than any baby soap *PH balanced *Gentle cleansing for babysoft skin (Or so it says on the back of the bottle!) So I then open the bottle, the cap is tight fitting and a bit of effort is needed to release it. (Definitely a good thing with Beth?s wandering fingers!) When pouring the see through liquid onto my fingers it is quite fast flowing, not terribly thick. I rub it into my hands and then onto Beth's wet skin. It rubs in easily and lathers up really well. You really don?t need much to get good coverage. It smells lovely and fresh, it is not like other Johnson?s products which I find a good thing, though it still has a hint of that baby powder
smell about it. I find the smell to be like lilies, quite floral but light and definitely not cloying or overly perfumed. It is very mild and leaves Beth's skin lovely and soft after we dry her off and doesn?t show any signs of irritating her skin at all. It is also great as a shampoo, it is so mild it doesn?t hurt Beth?s eyes if any accidentally splashes her face and it makes her fine blonde hair lovely, shiny and soft. Now I have to confess here that I too often use Beth?s top to toe wash on myself, it leaves my skin lovely and soft and it smells delicious! I also just tried rubbing it directly into my skin and surprisingly enough it works! It takes a lot of rubbing before it will absorb into the skin, and it foams up a little but once it is fully absorbed it does make my skin feel softer and more refreshed. It works really well as a bubble bath; you need the smallest drop to make lots and lots of bubbles! Now to the nitty gritty. I picked up a new 300-ml bottle today and it cost me £1.99 in Superdrug. Boots has the same size bottle but it costs £3.25 there. This may sound expensive but a bottle tends to last me somewhere between 6-8 weeks because you need such a little amount of it! So really when you think about it is good value for money because you don?t need to buy bubble bath and Shampoo as well, this body wash does it all! Beth and I both give this product 5 stars out of five! What more of a recommendation could you possibly want!
