Being a huge fan of the Johnsons baby products for my daughter, I decided to buy their nappy cream to see how it compared to others such as Bupantham and Sudocrem.
It can be brought in 110g tube from Boots for £3.14. It comes in a tube with a flip top lid and you simply squeeze to get the product out. The cream itself is white and is quite thick and mildly fragranced. A little bit really does go a long way so a tube will last quite a long time even with very frequent use.
The tube itself is very easy to fit into baby change bags.
This cream contains Zinc oxide which is proven to soothe skin, and the creme provides a protective barrier helping to prevent nappy rash.
It is dermatologically testes and is hypoallergenic and can be used from birth.
I was really pleased with this cream and have found it to be very soothing on my daughter especially if her bottom is a little red. It can be used to both prevent and treat nappy rash and can be used at each nappy change. It has a lovely consistency and absorbs well into the skin and has a mild and gentle smell. It is an extremely effective creme and I would definetely buy this product again, it is one of the best nappy creams I have found and really does last a long time.

As a mother to two children, both of whom are currently in nappies, I am no stranger to nappy cream and I have tried a fair few on the market. Johnson's is one of my favourite baby brands which I buy when I see a good offer and I particularly like their nappy cream as it comes in a tube which is great for including in the change bag as it takes up less room and can be applied easily when out and about.
The nappy cream from Johnsons is a lot thinner than the creams you buy in a pot and as a result it applies to the skin easily and can be moved about with relative ease. A dot is all you need per application so I find a tube lasts a great amount of time.
Nappy rash is not something either of my daughters have ever suffered from, thankfully, but I will use nappy cream on them, not every time but if I think they are due a messy number two or if its been a big clean up job and their skin has been wiped a lot. If they look a bit red down there I will put some cream on their bottoms. I do think some of this is absorbed by the nappy as they move about as it is never as generously applied on the skin when you remove the next nappy but it definitely provides a handy barrier that helps protect their skin.
I stocked up on this in Morrisons when I saw it being sold in boxes for 99p. I usually buy it unboxed but it's the same stuff. The next week I saw it being sold in there for £1.99 so felt I'd got a right bargain.
I am happy to recommend this nappy cream from Johnsons. It is a great barrier cream for bottoms and has worked at keeping the skin nice and protected on both my girls. I do have to be careful to keep it out of the reach of my two year old who is obsessed with any kind of cream and would have a field day smearing this everywhere. I am also careful when using this to make sure my hands are clean and that the tube doesn't become contaminated as you do get a bit caked up with it when you apply it by hand. I like to use a cotton bud to remove the blob from the tube and spread over the area I am treating as I find it cleaner and easier to do. Whilst my children are in nappies this will be something I will continue to purchase and it is also something I will recommend to my friends as a top baby change item
As you may see from a previous review I have been using Sudocrem on Jayden when I have been changing his nappy, but when the pot I was using ran out instead of starting the new pot I had I decided to give another nappy cream a try. I had received a sample of Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream which my Dad had sent for for me so I thought I would give this a try to see if it was any good, I have tried several Johnson products on Jayden and have been pleased with the results so I was hoping that this was going to be the same.
The Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream comes in a small squeezy tube made from a white soft plastic, it has a large pale blue tear shape on the front of it with the words "Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream" written inside it in dark blue writing, there is also a sentence about the cream just underneath it and further information just above the name in a red circle. The only information on the front of the tube is the Johnson's and Johnson's name and the size of the tube. The product information is on the back of the tube written in blue which clearly stands out on the white background, this includes a statement about the cream, the ingredients and directions for use. The tube has a small pale blue plastic lid which simply screws on and off of the tube, this also doubles up as the base of the tube allowing you to stand it up, the cream is squeezed out of a small hole in the end of the tube, the size of the tube means that you cannot squeeze too much cream out of the tube at once.
The Nappy Cream
Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream is basically a white coloured cream, it is of quite a thick consistency which again helps with not wasting too much. I particularly like the fragrance of this nappy cream, it doesn't have a clinical smell to it but has a sweet light floral fragrance, personally I think it has a hint of Johnson's Baby Lotion to it as well, it is definitely what I would call a fragrance suitable for a baby, it is not strong and overpowering but light and delicate. Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream is said to provide immediate comfort from nappy rash from the first use and has been trusted by mums for over 100 years, this particular cream like other nappy creams heals and sooths sore skin caused by nappy rash as well as preventing it occurring.
Directions for Use
Using Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream is very easy you simply clean your baby's skin and allow to dry then apply a thin layer of cream, it is recommended this is done during every nappy change, which personally I do regardless of what nappy cream I am using.
Price and Availability
As I have mentioned I received my Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream as a free sample and it was a 16.5g tube, however I have done a bit of research and this product is available from supermarkets and chemists such as Boots and Superdrug. The price does vary a little depending on where you purchase it from, you can buy a 110g tube from Boots for £3.30, personally I feel this is a fair price for this product especially as it is so long lasting, a little bit goes a long way.
I would definitely recommend Johnson's Baby Nappy Cream, I use this every time I change Jayden's nappy, he hasn't had nappy rash since he was in hospital but sometimes his skin does get a little bit red but after applying this cream his skin is soothed and the redness disappears. I love the smell of this cream and it doesn't have a chemical fragrance to it at all, the cream is gentle on Jayden's skin although it doesn't make any promises to be suitable for sensitive skin on the packaging. The cream is sold for a good price and is very long a lasting you only need a small amount at a time making it very good value for money. I would definitely purchase this cream again in the future and would recommend it to anyone.
I got bought a 110g tube of Johnsons baby nappy cream by a relative, once my daughter was clear of nappy rash after use sudocrem I started applying this cream to prevent it from coming back.
It comes in a soft plastic tube with a flip up lid which can be opened with one hand if you are a bit tied up with the other and it is mild enough to use on your newborn baby.
The cream is excellent as it prevents nappy rash by forming a barrier, it helps to soothe the skin and it has anti-bacterial action.
The cream is quite thick and you only need to apply a thin layer so don't put too much on your finger because you will end up with too much, and don't do what my partner did and think it needs to be completely rubbed in as it will take ages! it just needs to sit on the surface.
There doesn't seem to be much of a fragrance to it, it has a slight smell of your standard cream smell but thats hardly noticeable.
Another reliable product from Johnsons for your baby, I use to use this every day but as my daughter is getting older Ive started to reduce the amount of times i use it as she is getting less likely to get nappy rash. One tube has lasted me 6 months!
Guards against nappy rash. Forms a barrier over your baby's skin and protects against wetness and painful nappy rash.
