Advantages: Leaves both yours and babys skin soft and smelling lovely!

Disadvantages: None!

Johnson's baby softwash comes in an hourglass shaped bottle and stands on its lid which is pale blue. The main body of the bottle is white and then there is another central hour glass section with a pale pink background which has written on it, "New Johnson's® baby softwash™ bodywash" this text is written in blue and pink and then beneath that there is an image of a tear drop dropping into a pool of water with the rippling effect. Written within this image in white is "no more tears®, 1/3 baby lotion, our softest ever" and then beneath that in blue "Johnson + Johnson."

If you turn the bottle over the back reads:

>> The softest ever JOHNSON'S® baby wash for perfect babysoft skin.
With the unique JOHNSON'S® baby smell.

Best for Baby
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
New improved baby SOFTWASH™ with 1/3 baby lotion, moisturizes the skin to protect its perfect baby softness while washing. This new NO MORE TEARS® baby wash is as gentle to the eyes as pure water.
Best for You
SOFTWASH™ will make your skin feel babysoft every time you wash. Its new formula with an incredibly richer lather envelops the skin for out best ever softness.
Directions: For baby, one-handed dispenser makes it easy to apply directly on skin then wash with hand or wash cloth. For you, squeeze a dab onto a puff to work into a rich creamy lather.
INGREDIENTS:
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Aqua, Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sodium Laureth Sulphate, Polysorbate 20, Hydroxypropyl Starch Phosphate, Citric Acid, Polyquaternium-7, Styrene / Acrylates copolymer, Acrylates / C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Paraffinum Liquidum, PEG-80 Sorbitan LAurate, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Benzoate, Parfum<<

When you flip back the blue lid there is one of those dispensers that you often see on hanging shower gels so that you can squeeze out as much as you want and when pressure is no longer applied the seal shuts itself stopping anymore of the lotion from being dispensed.

The bodywash lotion is the same cloudy white colour as the main body of the bottle and it feels very thick and moist when in contact with the skin. The smell is mild and fresh as with all Johnson's products but there is also a soapy hint too.

As the lotion came into contact with my wet skin I started to rub it into my body, the combination of lotion and water created a few bubbles but in general it smoothed over my skin very well, it felt soft and smelt lovely and fresh. When I rinsed myself underneath the shower head unlike a lot of other bodywash' it didn't stick to the skin but instead slid away gently leaving that same fresh smell behind and my skin was amazingly soft.

For hours after my shower my skin continued to feel moisturised and smell fresh and so I decided that I wouldn't hog it all to myself but I'd try it on my baby girl aged 11mnths.

Due to the shape of the bottle and its easy dispenser it was easy to hold my daughter with one hand in her shallow bath water and apply the lotion with the other hand; she loves to be massaged and wriggles around like a real little mite whilst in the water which when she was younger was quite a struggle as she gets slippy and hard to hold onto as I'm sure all mothers know. Alas after carefully rinsing the bodywash off of her small and slightly wrinkled body I lifted her out of the water and into her towel.

Now, I also used the bodywash to wash her hair and due to the no more tears formula when some of the water ran down into her eyes she didn't flinch, she didn't seem to even know it was there and as a result she didn't get upset.

Johnson's baby softwash is also available in New Aloe Vera, which is soothing to baby. The bottle looks much the same as the regular softwash bottle with it's hour glass shape but the central hourglass instead of being pink is minty green and also states on the front "New Aloe Vera Johnson's® baby softwash™ bodywash soothing no more tears® 1/3 baby lotion our softest ever Johnson + Johnson"

The lotion itself is the same cloudy white colour as the original bodywash but instead of the distinctive Johnson's smell it smells of Aloe Vera, as you'd expect it's quite leafy and fresh but equally lovely and non offensive. In fact in my opinion everything about the Aloe Vera soothing bodywash is the same as the original bodywash apart from the scent.

As I bought these two bottles as a twin pack I believe what I bought was good value for money, both mine and my daughters skin feels lovely and moisturized after using this product and I do alternate which of the softwash' I use as I believe variety is the spice of life.

There is hardly any difference on the back of the bottles as far as information goes, although the first paragraph does vary it's wording slightly by saying, "The softest ever Johnson's baby wash for perfect babysoft skin. With natural Aloe Vera, one of nature's best-known moisturising and soothing ingredients. The other slight difference is that the soothing softwash contains 3 extra ingredients which are; Aloe Barbadensis, Propylene Glycol and Lactic Acid.

I'm a lover of all Johnson's products for both myself and my daughter and this is definitely one which I'll continue to keep in my bathroom for years to come!
