I like Johnson’s baby toiletries and although other brands may be cheaper none smells as good to me. When I noticed that Tesco were giving an extra 100 reward points for buying 2 products from the Johnson’s baby product range I was persuaded to buy a bottle of soft wash body wash. I was impressed by the claim on the back of the bottle that the wash was their softest ever and that the wash would produce an incredibly rich lather. I also liked the fact that this body wash contains 1/3 baby lotion.

Johnson’s soft wash body wash comes in a white plastic bottle with a blue lid. It is designed to stand on its lid. It is designed to be dispensed with one hand, great when you are holding a baby! The wash can be applied directly onto the skin or you can squirt a little onto a face cloth of shower puff. Johnson’s claim that the wash is as gentle as pure water for your baby and in addition will give you baby soft skin.

The wash is fairly thick and white. Despite the claims I was very disappointed that this body wash hardly produces any lather and certainly not the incredible rich lather that is claimed!

When I tried this wash on my son in the bath it did get the dirt off and his skin felt smooth and soft, but no more than if I had used soap. The wash did have the lovely Johnson’s smell though so full marks here!

I have used the body wash both in the bath and in the shower .I do find the lack of lather strange. The wash did leave my skin feeling soft and moisturised but was really nothing special.

Johnson’s soft wash body wash is widely available and costs about £2.47 for a 400 ml bottle. Although I really like Johnson’s products I’m not sure I would buy this again.
