Advantages: Smells so good!; Very gentle on my skin

Disadvantages: Doesn't lather as easily as some other body washes

I got this body wash quite some time ago but have only just got round to using it. I am quite a big fan of J&J baby products as they have that clean 'baby' smell about them which no other products have in my opinion.

You can buy this for under three pounds from many shops including Boots, Superdrugs, Asda, Tesco's and various other supermarkets. As it is a 400 ml bottle that you get, I think this is quite good value for money as it is a branded product made by a reputable company that specialises in baby care items.

I haven't got a baby to use this on, but have been using it myself during shower-times as like I said, I adore the smell of it. The shape of the bottle and the soft gentle colours really appeal to me. The combination of the gentle pink and blue with a white background is visually soothing and has a calming effect - great for a shower before bedtime I reckon to get you into a chilled out mood to sleep. In addition, although 400 ml is a large volume and you might think it'd be difficult and slippery to handle in the shower, it has an interesting curvy-shaped bottle which makes holding and squeezing the body wash quite comfortable. This would be an advantage if using for a baby I can imagine as the last thing you'd want is a big bottle to be falling all over the place whilst giving a precious little baby a bath.

On the front of the bottle, it says that this body wash contains '1/3 baby lotion'. This is very believable, as the consistency before lathering is very lotion-like, and it actually does look like a moisturising cream if not a little heavier than the J&J baby lotion itself. I don't know if it's because this contains baby lotion that it takes a little more work than I imagined to get it lathery. That's probably the only negative feeling I have towards it - that I need to work that little bit harder to get a lather - no biggie though!

Once lathered it does really feel soft. I even used it on my face and after washing (and drying) my face did not feel dry at all. Usually I need to get some moisturiser on my face quite quickly after washing, as my skin tends to feel stiff almost instantly but I didn't feel that after using this body wash and I was quite surprised! I suppose this really is as gentle as it claims to be and would therefore be very suitable for the delicate skin of babies.

In conclusion, I am very pleased with the Johnson's softwash body wash as it is not bad value for money, smells really good, is gentle to my skin and leaves me feeling fresh, clean and chilled out after a shower.

Summary: Lovely bodywash!
