I like to try a variety of moisturizing lotions and whilst venturing down the baby isle with my friend I spotted Johnson's baby soothing naturals lotion. I have used Johnson's baby lotions before and always been impressed, so as this was on offer I was keen to give it a go. ****How can you spot it and how much is it**** Generally it is found in the baby isle of supermarkets and chemists. It comes in a pastel, pale green bottle of 250ml size with a slightly darker green flip lid. Around £1.90 for 250mls. ****The design and is it practical**** As the bottle is slightly larger on the bottom half it is comfortable and sturdy to hold. Very easy to squeeze and with a small nozzle provides adequate supplies of lotion as required. Great if you have a wriggling baby as it is easy to use with one hand, also in using on yourself. The lid I am less enamored with. It is relatively thin plastic and flips easily open but sometimes doesn't catch properly to click back into place. If you force it too much you end up snapping it, so something a little more substantial would be better. ****What does it say it does and does it do it**** "Relieves dry skin from the first use" I can confirm that although I don't have excessively dry skin, it does tend to get dry especially my legs after shaving or pounding the muddy, wet hills with the dogs. After the first application my skin did indeed feel very soft and silky and this lasted for hours, which is fantastic. This is a product that you could use on a daily basis, as it is so soft and gentle, they also suggest that it gives 24hour moisture, which is absorbed very quickly. "Johnson's use a blend of olive leaf extract, pure vitamin E and skin essential minerals" It feels great against your skin and I am sure no baby would complain either! It feels soothing to me, not just because of the gentle lotion but the smell is lovely! It has the typical Johnson's baby smell but added with what I assume to be an olive hint to it. Difficult to describe but it is not over powering and could be worn with other perfumes without causing a conflict of smells. Although I say it has the baby smell I don't feel like I smell like one, it is just a soft innocuous note that is unobtrusive to anyone. ****What else to say**** The product can be used with the bubble bath and they have a smaller lotion too, which I have used as a hand cream with good effects or you could put it in a baby bag! Shampoo and a head to toe wash are available and some have pump action tops to them for even easier use. Cheap and gentle to the point that it can be used on you're face. Made in conjunction with paediatricians and is dermatologically tested. Made in Greece - other products of there's I have are made in China? Maybe it's because of the olives! The website states they are 98% natural with no parabens, silicones, lanolin, petrolatum, dyes, animal by products amongst other things. Any further information can be obtained from the website www.johnsonsbaby.com Would I recommend it? Certainly for you and baby! Review maybe posted on ciao and dooyoo under the same username.
I was looking for a cheap and cheerful body moisturiser to take away on holiday with me. As I have sensitive skin I occasionally look at the baby moisturisers for inspiration as they are usually dermatologicaly tested and great for dry skin. I have used Johnson's baby lotions before but wanted to try something different and a bit less greasy than the Johnson's Baby Oil 'old faithful'. It was the packaging that first caught my eye, a nice light green bottle, simple design and a bit more 'grown up' looking. The price was around £2.60 and I thought this was quite reasonable. On the bottle it states 'Relieves dry skin from the fist use' and it contains Olive Leaf extract and vitamin E. The moisturiser itself is white, (assuming there are no colours added) and is of a nice gloopy constancy (not watery). The lotion slides onto skin easily and is quickly absorbed. It is noticeable that it doesn't leave skin greasy at all and that it disappears into the skin leaving it feeling nourished, smooth and supple. The fragrance is light and fresh with a slight hint of herbs and olive oil and a slightly sweet edge, surprisingly not 'baby' smelling at all (the other half thought it smelled lovely). This one will be staying in my bathroom for a while. The pleasant smell and great moisturising properties make this a clear winner for me and at a great price too!
I first started using this nourishing lotion after being recommended it by a friend, as my son had quite dry skin after he was born. It cost £2 for a 250ml bottle, the bottle is green with a green, hinged top. It is a new product from Johnson & Johnson and claims to relieve dry skin from the first use. I am pleased to say that it does!! I started using it on my son from when he was about 4 weeks old. The cream is white and has a lovely fragrance, I can only describe it as a holiday smell as I think it smells like coconut, although it doesn't have coconut in the ingredients!! You only need a small amount as it goes a long way. I use about a 50p piece sized squirt in my hand and this does my son's full body. It rubs in very easily and doesn't leave his skin feeling greasy afterwards. It also states on the back that it moisturizes for 24 hours and that is was developed by Paediatricians and tested by dermatologists and is clinically proven mild enough for your baby's soft skin.
To give your baby's skin essential moisture, apply liberally. Gently rub Johnson's Soothing Naturals Nourishing Lotion into skin to help soothe, soften and moisturize.
