Advantages: Effective in many ways

Disadvantages: A bit pricey

In the world of baby wipes, there are many different types, some more moist than others, some stronger, and some that just seem to 'hold on' to more of what you're trying to get off! Ranking highly amongst these are the Johnson's brand, with the company name pretty much doing the job of selling the product, matching it with quality from the start.

Our son is now 5 years old, and as a result we don't really use them as much as we used to. However, they are still handy for a variety of things. When he was a baby, we used to get through a ridiculous amount of baby wipes, and it is often worth having a look around for a good deal. You can often get a buy one get one free offer on these Johnson's wipes, and you get 64 or so in a packet, bumper packs costing around the £5 mark.

So, what sets these aside from other baby wipes? Firstly, the smell. I found with other wipes, (and excuse me for getting a bit 'dirty' here) that after a while it was hard to tell whether baby's bottom, or the sick I had just finished cleaning off him, was gone or if it was the smell of the wipe that lingered. With Johnson's wipes, the smell did become synonymous with poo and sick, but at least there was some definition to start with.

The protective part of the wipes which they claim is good for retaining smooth and babylike skin for babies is effective. The wipes remain moist, and our son never complained with these wipes, whereas other brands, particularly chesp own brands, lost their moisture quicker and became more irritable to the skin.

I guess you get what you pay for in a certain sense. We still get these on occasion, as they are good as hand wipes and to clean mucky faces, and they smell nice. Quite often, a quick wipe of the face while relaxing, sitting down, is soothing and refreshing, and they are just as good as some makeup removing wipes, if you ask my wife. They don't contain any alcohol, so it's no use sucking them when you've run out of beer in the fridge, but they seem to remove makeup very well.

Overall, I recommend these. There are cheaper brands on the market, but if you shop around you can find Johnson's wipes for a decent price, and they are of very good quality.

Summary: Quality wipes that do the job as intended
