Classic kooshies have a waterproof layer built in around the outside but I found them not to be sufficient in keeping my little one dry, I used the waterproof wraps by kooshies or an alternative from another company. Yes they do seem to be a little large for the smaller bums but as I have had 9lb babies I found this not to be too bad. I found that even now after three children they are still useable they can take there time to dry but in the tumble dryer they take hardly any time. Kooshies I would recomend easily as I found even though my children are big wetters when used with the waterproof pants to be great at keeping their clothes dry and at night put two boosters in ... Before my daughter was born, I spent a fortune buying 10 Classic Kooshie nappies and all the extras. This was because my best friend had used them for her daughter and spoke very highly of them. When my daughter was born, she was so tiny that she did not fit into the nappies for the first 3 months. This was fatal. By that time, I was well used to disposable nappies and their convenience. Although I was excited by the prospect of using my cute, soft reusable nappies, the novelty soon wore off when I realised how much work (not to mention mess) was involved.
