These are a great product in theory, light, bright, easy to dry and contain all the poo! Well I'm sure they would if either of my children had ever done one in the pool in the last 6 years! Either the magical properties of Kooshies prevents anything nasty from attempting to make an exit under water or children just naturally don't poo while swimming and manufacturers are making a fortune from needlessly panicking parents! They are well designed and sort of 'timeless'. They are a layer of 'parachute' nylon with another layer of mesh inside and a white cotton style binding on the edges. They fasten like a nappy at the front with velcro ... Read the complete review

Back in the halcyon days when I was happily pregnant - finished work but not too fat, the imminent arrival just far enough around the corner - I would lie back, rub my bump and dream of all the wonderful supermum type activities I would do with my baby once he/she was born. A month later, a rather early rude awakening disturbed my dreams and I found myself muddling through four months of constant feeding, staying awake all night and panicking about what a terrible mother I was. At the end of those four months, and a few new friends later, I dragged myself out of that fog and began to really enjoy doing things with my bundle of fun! One of the things I'd always ... I bought some kooshies swim pants (which you can get from mothercare or Boots) when my little boy was 9 weeks to take him swimming and they are great. Once hes grown out of them i simply pass them onto friends with younger babies which makes them much more environmentally friendly than disposables. However when we started using cloth nappies when my son was 7 months old, we discovered that Kooshies made a range od all in one cloth nappies so all you have to add is the disposable/flushable liner. They are incredibly easy to use and can be bought from lots of places including mothercare. ... Read the complete review

Swim nappies. Swimming pools generally insist that your baby wears one in the pool. These cost a little more than a pack of disposable swim pants, and last for at least 3 children (probably more, but that is as far as I have got). Although you will need them in several sizes - so you'll probably have to buy 3. Still, I went swimming maybe 100 times with each child before they were potty-trained so I think they're good value! They open out flar, and you lay the baby on top. Then the sides and the crotch wrap around and fasten with velcro. There is a string tie to stop the baby removing the nappy. They are easier to get on and off a small baby, than ... Read the complete review

I have one pair of Kooshies which fits both my 1 year old and 2 year old. They are the Large size and are superb for either swimming or playing outdoors with water. They have both velcro and tie fixings and seem to be really comfortable, with no restriction in leg movement. Possibly the only real disadvantage is that, once they've pooped.. the Kooshies need emptying and washing. Disposible swim pants can be changed for another pair. Then again, a quick emptying and rinse through should be fine, as they're playing in water anyway, so they're usually worn wet. Their price is high, but they are re-used, so they are ultimately cost ... Read the complete review
