Advantages: Use them again and again
Disadvantages: None really
Swim nappies. Swimming pools generally insist that your baby wears one in the pool.
These cost a little more than a pack of disposable swim pants, and last for at least 3 children (probably more, but that is as far as I have got). Although you will need them in several sizes - so you'll probably have to buy 3. Still, I went swimming maybe 100 times with each child before they were potty-trained so I think they're good value!
They open out flar, and you lay the baby on top. Then the sides and the crotch wrap around and fasten with velcro. There is a string tie to stop the baby removing the nappy. They are easier to get on and off a small baby, than the sort that look like pants with elasticated waist and legs.
They are polyester outside and towelling and mesh inside.
They are lightweight and appear to be comfortable. They are easy to wash and quick to dry (on an airer or line, they don't need a tumble-drier).
Like the other reviewer, I've never had the chance to test how good they are at catching poo! But they satisfy the requirements of the swimming pool staff.
Summary: I'm glad I bought it
