The Little Me range was something I tried with our son when he was about 18 months old and I haven't looked back since. Prior to this we had use Johnson bedtime baby lotion but I was starting to notice some dry patches on his skin so though I would try a different product and because I was concerned about petroleum based products maybe drying his skin out I thought I would try this product. It is also Paraben free and uses organic essential oils and carrier oils such as sunflower and olive oil so I hoped this would nourish his skin.
This comes is a 150ml plastic pot with a screw cap lid. This is easy to take on and off and the lid remains firmly in place even when knocked over which tends to happen a lot in our household. Whilst the packaging is well made it can at times be a bit awkward to get the cream out if you are trying to stop a toddler running off and get it out at the same time. However the advantage of the tub is that it is very easy to make sure you use every last drop of the cream. The reason I think it is in a pot rather than a tube or bottle is because the cream is so thick and it maybe hard to dispense this way. I find it best to have the top off the before getting it ready to rub in as this means it is ready for easy access.
This is a lovely thick gloopy white cream. When you place your finger tips in the cream it leaves lovely gouges in the cream that don't then fill in with cream as it is so thick. Despite this thickness the cream is surprisingly light to the touch and the phrase that comes to mind is soufflé cream. The scent when you lift the cream off the lid is noticeable but not over powering. I personally only ever get the lavender notes and never any dill notes to the cream.
When I use this on my son I find that it absorbs very well into his skin and leaves no nasty film across his skin and seems to be very quickly absorbed into his skin. The inclusion of dill and lavender in this cream is designed to help calm baby and soften any tender dry skin. I find that this is to be the case with this cream. When we have use this on my son on a night he is often calmer on a night before bedtime than on the nights when we don't use it. The dry skin patches that I had noticed on his back and elbows seemed to disappear after about 5 days of using this cream every night after his bath and have never reappeared since we continued using it. Instead his skin has remained lovely and soft to the touch with only the odd bruises and scruffs from his various trips and falls to mar it.
If any is left on my hands after rubbing it on to my son I rub this into my hands and it leaves them feeling lovely and soft too.
We tend to find a pot of the cream lasts between 4-6 weeks when used most nights on our son. So it does work out more expensive than most other baby lotions. However for me the quality of this product does justify the expense as it leaves my son's skin so soft and free of dry patches. The calming influence of the dill and lavender do seem to provide a lot of benefits when it comes to his bedtime routine.

*These ingredients are organic
Though the cream makes some claims to be organic not all of the ingredients are actually from organic sources and the reason the company states for this is to stop it being too expensive. The cream isn't the cheapest on the market at around £5 a tub when not on offer but compared to say Neal's yard products which are more genuinely organic they are about half the price.
I would definitely recommend this product to for babies and preschool children who are prone to dry skin and unsettled nights as the cream softness skin wonderfully and seems to help our son relax on an evening. We definitely be using it too with our next addition and I plan to start stocking up when I see it on offers a full 5 stars for this one from me.
