Advantages: Good value for money, very gentle, soft wipes

Disadvantages: none

Being a bargain hunter, I have tried many "cheaper" products in an effort to save my pennies. However, when it comes to baby I want the best, and prepared to pay the extra for it. Just for the record, I usually use Johnsons baby wipes.

Having run out of wipes, I popped to my local Lloyds Chemist to re-stock. To my horror .... no Johnsons. They did however have their own brand.
I have tried many other brands before now, but I am never happy. They are either too rough, too soapy etc.
Unfortunately at this time, I was left with no option. I grudgingly bought the store brand.

Appearance :

Wipes come in a handy, re-useable box, which is very "Mother friendly" ie, easy to clean, easy to use. Should contain 72 wipes, that when pulled, will "pop out" of the box indavidually.

The Wipes :

First thing I noticed is that they are very soft. As soft as any other top brand I have tried, and yes it did pop out easily as promised.
The smell is rather delicate. It does say on the packaging that they are lighty fragranced. The smell is similar to a soapy smell, rather than a perfumed type fragrance. They are moist enough to give a good clean, and soft enough to get into all the nooks and cranny's.
I have also used them to give hands and face a quick wipe when I have lost Holly under a layer of rusk. Again, does the job very well leaving a nice clean smell. These did not dry the skin at all.

The price :

As I bought the box it was slighlty more expensive (though still cheap compared to top brands)

The re-usable box was £2.49 (containing 72 wipes)
72 refill pack £1.99

Other info :

Dermatologically tested
Contains Aloe Vera, so the wipes have moisturising properties.

Summery :

I am quite suprised at how good they are, and in the long run, will save me quite a bit of money. In comparison to other brands.. they are definately up there wit
h the best, however the smell, although pleasant is not as nice as Johnsons. I will have to weigh up the money saving with the yummy Johnsons smelling botty. Knowing me, I will go with the money saving. I would recommend you try these as I am confident you will be pleased with the results.

I haven't tried these but they sound very good. Another good cheaper version (I think they're good) is the cloth wipes from Superdrug, but make sure they are the cloth ones as their other ones are not very soft.

Might have to try these when I'm back in the UK if I can find a Lloyds in Manchester. I'm also a devoted Johnsons user, but am not totally against change, especially if it saves money...
