Advantages: It holds baby securely and you can use it for years!

Disadvantages: None - it's FAB!

When my first daughter was born I bought a normal baby bath from mothercare but I found it really difficult to use. As a new mum, all fingers and thumbs, I just couldn't seem to hold the baby comfortably and once or twice she gave me a fright by slipping in my arms.

During a shopping trip, I went to a Mamas and Papas store, noticed this bath and bought it immediately. At around £20, this bath is without doubt, one of my best baby buys. I have used it continually for almost 5 years, with both of my children and it's still looks almost brand new.

Slightly larger than a normal baby bath, this is made from a pearlised plastic and is designed in a way that allows you to use one end for a small baby, in a reclined position and the other to be used by a baby or child who can sit unaided.

The 'baby' end has a moulded section which holds the baby securely, enabling you to have both hands free. The moulded part has a crotch support to hold baby's bottom, stopping them slipping down, 2 underarm sections and the back support, which holds the baby in a reclined position. This end also has 2 generously sized 'soap holder' sections, which allow any water to drain back into the bath. There is also a 'plug', which is a red stopper which can be turned and removed. To be honest, I have never used the plug, I use this in our main bath, so when bathtime is over I just tip the water out.

The 'Toddler' end is a slightly deeper end, allowing baby plenty of space to sit and play. The child's legs go either side of the crotch support, where there is plenty of leg room. In fact, there's an impressive amount of space - my daughter used this bath up to the age of 4! In this day and age of 'being green' this item really helps - no need to fill an adult bath! This is also a great selling point if you happen to have a water meter.

I love my M&P's bath and so does 'Practical Parenting Magazine' who awarded this product 'Value Buy and Best Baby Buy' Awards and 'Pregnancy and Birth Magazine' who awarded it 'Editors Choice Award' in 2007.

I'd definately recommend this bath to anyone, especially to those who lack a bit of confidence in handling a wet, wriggling baby!

Summary: A fantastic bath that is worth it's weight in gold. It lasts for years and saves water
