 ... 'chamomile and aloe vera'. At 99 pence per packet, these are not massively cheaper than other own-brands that I have tried (and over the years, I have tried them all!). However, taking one out of the pack, I can see that the size is generous, and the material is indeed 'cottonsoft' and thick, not scratchy and thin like some cheaper varieties. A huge boast on the lid of the packet is that this product has won a Silver award from 'Mother and Baby' magazine, in the 2008-09 awards, for 'Best Baby Wipe' . Pretty good...more

Premium Review Mamia Baby Wipes: Aldi wipes out the competition again (378 words)

Rating:

On one of my regular trips to Aldi last week, I decided to purchase a packet of their own brand baby wipes. These are called 'Mamia' Baby Wipes, although at a glance it did look like it said 'Mania' - very apt for those with young children. The packet is the same size and shape as all other baby wipe packets, containing approximately 80 wipes and with a hard plastic closing lid - this keeps the wipes wet. Inside this there is a soft plastic sticky cover which can be discarded. The product specifications mention 'cottonsoft material', and that the wipes contain 'chamomile and aloe vera'. At 99 pence per packet, these are not ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mamia Baby Wipes from Aldi (479 words)

Mamia is a brand name avaliable from Aldi, you can get nappies and baby wipes from this brand, and maybe other things from larger stores. I use baby wipes on my face in conjunction with soap and water to cleanse the make up off my face. I ususally buy Tesco or Johnson's wipes but I was in Aldi one day and picked these up to save having to go to Tesco just for baby wipes. I wiped my face with the Mamia baby wipe before bed as I usually do, and then rinsed my face before moisturising etc. I noticed that the skin on my cheeks was tingling but I didn't think much of it to be honest. I have very hardy and tough skin and have never had any skin reaction to any product ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Mamia Baby Wipes: A cheap alternative (99 words)
by - written on 04/07/00 (Very useful, 47 readings)

We all know that brands like Pampers and Johnsons are very good, but let's face it, they're not exactly cheap are they? At long last, after trying all sorts of different brands, I have finally found a cheap alternative that is as good as (if not better) than the top brands. Available from Aldi, the Mamia wipes come in a yellow pack with a blue lift up top, and are suitable for one-handed use. They are unbelieveably soft and smell nice. In fact, just as good as the expensive ones, and only cost £1.49 a packet. Wonderful! ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Everything a wipe should be (282 words)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mamia ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mamia is the brand mainly associated with Aldi. Their two main products are nappies and baby wipes. I was always the type of person to buy Pampers nappies and Johnson's baby wipes, however now I have two children I really notice how much I spend on these types of thing. I decided to try different products and was pleasently surprised with this particular brand. Mamia baby wipes come in a blue plastic pack with a hard plastic flip top and a sticky flap inside it. Mamia is clearly printed on the top next to a picture of a baby. They are a sensitive cotton wipes and are ...  Read the complete review
