Advantages: good first construction bricks
Disadvantages: none
I bought this mega blok boat from the charity shop cost 75 p .The RRP is £12.99 but you can buy it in toys are us for £6.499 at the moment. The US price is US$ 10.99 - US$ 13.99. Mega bloks.
Mega bloks are suitable for children aged between 1 and 3 years old this boat is made from are in the maxi mega brick range. This boat is really fine for the younger age range and below.
The boat is quite large and is brightly coloured. The base of the boat is a blue and the cabin top that your child fits onto it a bright orange. A brick that has a face and a blue captain’s uniform is provided for extra play fun. There is a “stud” that the captain or another brick will fit onto at the front top of the boat. There are studs on the deck of the boat for other bricks to be built onto, or for the captain to stand on too. Also is a little yellow dingy that is just big enough for the captain to fit into if he needs to evacuate his boat.
There are also 18 maxi mega bloks provided so your child can build either onto the boat or a building on the dock side .
My granddaughter aged 1 loves to put the captain on and off the boat and to put the other bricks in and out of the boat... small children love to put things in and out of objects.
We also have a larger tub full of mega bloks that the children can build other things with to create a bigger play scene. Adrian at 5 really has outgrown mega Bloks although he does help his sister build sometimes.
This boat really will float we have had it both in the bath and in the water tray outside .
Mega blokes are made by a Canadian company. They are are a co joining brick designed with studs similar to Lego Mega Blok are much bigger than Lego and are not compatible. Mega blocks are a bright easy to clean plastic and I would recommend as a first construction brick.
Summary: A bright boat with a cheerfull captain part of mega bloks construction kits
