Advantages: results in a jiffy!
Disadvantages: consistency, pricey.
As a nursery nurse I had the added advantage when becoming a mum for the first time of seeing many baby products used before I had my son.
Many other creams had been suggested to me and if Im honest I swore by sudocrem for my babys bottom. That was until I was introduced to metanium.
Due to teething my sons bottom was red raw and bleeding, I was really upset that my baby was in pain and the sudocrem seemed to just slide off his bottom it was that raw.
I remember a fellow colleuge telling me about metanium so off I went to the chemist. I was in for a shock.
This is available over the counter in a 30gram tube, it comes in a white box with its name clearly visible. It contains Titanium dioxide, Titanium peroxide and Titanium salicylate. At around £3.49 a tube it is rather expensive but I thought my baby is worth it.
Once home I opened the tube and it is a yellow/green colour with a very thick texture and a strong smell. Apply sparingly as a little goes a long way and avoid spillage as it is awful to get out of clothing or fabric.
The next day I was overwhelmed by the results, my sons skin was still not 100% and still a little blotchy but it was a vast improvement. Now I make sure I have a plentiful supply at teething time.
Summary: Not a lot for your money but an excellent product, well wprth the little extra.

- 21/11/05 You apply the cream used on the bum also on the gums? Nice review. I think it would probably mean more if I had kids... |
