Advantages: Good appearance, they fit my granddaughter well

Disadvantages: The nappy at night leaks badly and leaves my granddaughter's skin very sore

When my granddaughter came to stay for the weekend a couple of weeks ago I realised I needed to get a packet of nappies for her, when I went to Morrisons I was a little annoyed that as their Pampers were on special offer the shelves were bare of size 5 and a member of staff informed me there was none in the store room either. Huggies do not suit her body shape at all so I was forced to buy a pack of the Morrisons own brand Mover nappies, which are supposed to be the equivalent of Pampers Active Fit.

I say forced as my daughter and I only ever buy Pampers, not because we're brand snobs (well, my daughter is a little) but simply because they offer the best fit for my granddaughter and tend not to leak. I remember own brand nappies from ten or eleven years ago when my eldest granddaughter was a baby and they were awful plastic things back then, it was only due to lack of time which meant me buying these Morrisons nappies as I really didn't have time to stop anywhere else to hunt for Pampers.

The nappy has a nice appearance, to be honest I do think it looks cheaper than a Pampers nappy but it has an attractive material look outer and soft cotton core which is the part of the nappy that will rest against your baby's skin. It's obviously not cotton, I don't think anyway, but has that kind of feel to it. There is a cute picture of a cartoon lion on the nappy I have in front of me at the moment but there are different designs in the packet.

The fit of the nappy is good. For reference, my granddaughter has slim hips and a practically non-existent bottom with lovely chunky legs and the nappy fit her perfectly. My friends much chubbier grandson is the same age and when she visited last week with him she borrowed one of these nappies and let me tell you it was a real squeeze getting the nappy to close! The tabs are strong, none have pulled off in my hand and they stick to the waistband securely and comfortably for baby.

During the day these nappies are fine, they hold everything they should and don't leak at all. My granddaughter hates a wet or dirty nappy and is very quick to tell someone when she wants changing so in the daytime there is really no opportunity for the nappy to fail as it's not on her for often. During the night, well, forget it. Every single morning she'd wake up with a soaking wet baby grow which would really upset her, this also meant that her skin would become sore and red in the morning which is a major disadvantage with this nappy that I simply cannot live with it.

After the second night I had to go and buy a small packet of Pampers from my local shop to use for my granddaughters overnight nappy, which calmed down the irritation immensely. The following week when she was back at home she came down with a terrible case of the runs thanks to an emerging tooth, I thank the Lord that this didn't happen while she was at my house with the Morrisons nappies as I really don't think they would have coped!

I won't use these again quite simply because they are not kind enough to my granddaughters skin to justify the £1.50 saving, if I had had the choice I would never have picked them up and the way these nappies perform at night just proves me right. If these nappies suit your baby then good luck to you, the price difference between these and Pampers would certainly mount up over the month, it's just that they didn't suit my granddaughter and we're back to Pampers already with half a pack of Morrisons Movers up for grabs on Freecycle!

Summary: Anyone for a free half bag of (useless) nappies?

Great review, if desperate again try tesco or sainsburys own they def match pampers although i do think it depends on the childs shape.

You should try the Tescos own brand they are by far the best and I think they def match Pampers.

I could never find another brand anywhere near as good as Pampers either.
