Advantages: Smells nice on its own.

Disadvantages: Doesnt really do what it says.

My mum shops at Morrisons so if it isn't a brand name product that shes hands over on a Friday when she pops in then it's a Morrisons own brand. A few weeks a go, along she came with a packet of these nappy sacks. Now I am not a keen lover of nappy sacks as I think they are a pretty pointless invention. At the end of the day poo smells and nothing is going to cover it up or make it smell any nicer. Still I had to use them or I would have felt guilty about wasting her hard earned money.

The wrapper looks very appealing and baby-like. It's a nice turquoise blue with a picture of a lovely cartoon baby on it. The thing I like about the wrapper is the fact that it has a hard, plastic lid that opens easily and seals well. Some of the cheaper 'Value' ranges have a flimsy bit of plastic that is constantly open so when your little ones get there hands on it you end up with nappy sacks all over the house. At least with this one you can shut it and they probably won't get it open and if they do there will be less nappy sacks around the house by the time you've realised!

The pack contains 100 nappy sacks which will last me a long time. I probably do around three nappy changes a day and if it isn't 'Pooey' then I don't put it in a sack. Elijah probably poos once a day, if that so they will definately last longer than 100 days.

When you open the lid a nice, pleasant smell comes floating out. It's definately a 'Baby' smell and reminds me a bit of Johnsons baby lotion. It's a nice soft scent which makes me wonder how they can expect something so non-invasive to cover up the smell of shite!

The scks are an orangey, beige colour and make a quiet 'Crinkling' sound when you pull one out of the bag. I suppose I should say at this point that they are a little fiddly to get out of the wrapper especially if it's the first few. You need a wet finger.

The bag itself has two handles on each side and easily fits two nappies inside. They are quite strong and thick so they don't break very easily. I do find that if I don't fold my nappies properly then the sticky tags on them stick to the bags and it ends up tearing them as I force it in with one hand!

Elijah is breastfed so his poo doesn't smell as foul as a bottle fed baby. He is on solids now so his poo is smelling a bit more poo-like and these bags still don't manage to cover the sell. I think it makes them smell worse because my nose gets confused. I find that I want to sniff because the bag smells nice but then you get the strong poo wafting around which makes you feel sick and somehow embarressed that you wanted to take a big whiff. Weird!

Anyway these bags are as good as any nappy sacks that I'v tried but I'd recommend saving a quid and dumping the pooey nappy straight out into the main bin.

For those of you who are interested, the packt isn't recyclable (apparently they are working on it!), it can cause an allergic reaction, they aren't suitable for carrying food (Duh) and you shouldn't flush it down the loo!

Summary: Who decided that these would be a good idea?
