Advantages: Popper fastening
Disadvantages: Prints are a bit dull
These wraps are designed to be used with cloth nappies, and form the waterproof layer over the nappy that prevents leaks. Airflow wraps fasten with poppers. They come in 6 different sizes from x-small up to x-large, and cost around £8.50 per wrap. There are several different designs all on an animal theme, with a white or blue background. You can also buy the wraps in plain blue, white or yellow.
The poppers fasten at the waist and leg. These are great if you have a wriggly baby as you can fasten the poppers up just by feeling for them, you can do it even if your baby is trying to crawl away from you! Much easier than aplix or velcro type fasteners if you have a wriggly baby.
The idea with these is that there should be a little gap around the legs for the air to circulate, so they shouldn't form a tight 'seal' on the legs. Amazingly, they don't leak! They also don't seem to stain which is great. I wash mine at 60C but I know others who wash at 40 with no problems. The wraps are quick to dry and can go in the tumble dryer on a low setting, although this might affect the life.
I used the same wraps on both my children and they have lasted really well. You can use Airflow wraps on just about any brand of nappy. I used them with Tots Bots, among others. You can't use them with prefolds or terries, as you would need a snugger wrap to help keep the nappy in place. But otherwise you can try them with other makes, not just motherease.
In my opinion, these are the best nappy wraps available. The prints aren't all that inspiring, but they are totally unisex, useful if you have a girl and a boy in cloth! I buy all my cloth nappies from Kittykins, as their delivery charges are very reasonable, (£1.50, free over £50 order) and the service is great. They have a great range too.
Summary: Use these with any nappy, not just Motherease!
