Advantages: keeps newborns warm when they struggle to control their temperature

Disadvantages: after 6 weeks id say a normal towel was just as practical

I got my first cuddle and dry bath robe with my mothercare Teddy Wash bath set and thought to start with it was just a gummic - we had lots of towels so why would we need one with a hood? As i then had my son and bathed him for the first time i realised how fantastic these are for newborns - he started shivering and the big normal towel kept falling off. The wrap one meant the hood fitted over his head perfectly and stopped the shivering. We actually went and bought a pack of 3 others after this as they were just so useful. However after about 6 weeks, and my baby was better at controling his temperature and i was more confident, i reverted to using normal towels as he needed the bigger size as he was growing and also he was wriggling out of the hooded part. On the whole i would highly recommend these for newborns and recommend having 4 or so of them as you sometimes need to bath 2 times a day at the start but after that i think normal towels are just as good concerning practicalities though of course they look cuter in them but it depends how much spare cash you have.

Summary: id recommend these esp at the start as it makes bathtime easier

I bought a classic pooh one from mothercare when my daughter was born and also found that after around 4 - 6 weeks i stopped using it as it was too small and i had too use a bigger towel. but for older babies and toddlers you can get the poncho type onesx
