I had an elective caesarean section and knew that changing and bathing Jack was going to be a nightmare, so we invested in a changing station.

Its made from solid pine and can be bought in natural or white (we chose natural) The whole unit is on castors so can be moved around, and the wheels have brakes. The lid is the changing part and with a mat on is at the right height to change those nappies, and if you lift the lid, which is secured once open with a lock there is the bath, which comes with a drainage tube.

The bath I found was brilliant for the first 2 months after having Jack as bending and lifting is not advisable and he was still in the bath until he was about 4/5 months old, he outgrew it but it was the splashing he had learnt was getting everything wet, me the carpet even the dog.

There are 2 shelves for all your bits and bobs, which is great as you can keep them all close to hand. We have now taken the bath out but I still use the changing station when I am at home and Jack is now nearly 9 months old, he is nearly too long for it but my back is not looking forward to the day when I can no longer use it !! Its a must and has been worth every penny, and when its not in use he can put all his toys on it !
