We all know bath time is meant to be a lovely soothing experience for both baby and parent. It really isn't. It is complete hell with a newborn baby, I felt myself feeling completely down trodden after bathing a screaming baby - it certainly wasn't a good bonding experience for me.

When the boyfriend and I were out shopping, we were looking for something to make the experience a bit more easy and enjoyable for me and baby. My boyfriend was working at the time so I usually had to wash bubba by myself. We already had a baby bath but I really struggled with juggling everything. We bought the bath support from Mothercare for about £7 and it is the best £7, I have ever spent.

Basically, it is a large foam support designed to support baby in the bath, and give you a hands free experience. The sponge sits in the water and the head part is raised higher than the feet part, so baby is in the water but their head is kept well clear. I was particularly worried about baby going under the water but there really is little possibility, It may be hands free but you still need to watch your baby. The hands free part allowed me to lather up bubba, get towels for her and so on without soaking myself as well.

It is recommended by Mothercare from birth up until 6 months but my bubba used it way past that, she used to lay on it and just splash her legs in the water dangling off it. I like the fact that it stills allows movement and the baby doesn't feel restrained. I found bath time a much more relaxing experience.

I really would defenitely recommend this to any parent, it will just make a bathing session so much more enjoyable and easy for both of you.
